1. If it is a good acoustic it is almost the same thing, playingwise that is.
  2. I have a cheap acoustic, it's just the only one I've got and I don't want to risk it not being safe in the room because I don't have any legit space to put it. I can deal a month, guys, it'll hurt but its okay haha

gettin it tomorrow finally gettin rid of my crappy digital delay and havin the most amazing analog delay ever created

ps...Jeff your probably the only one who cares lol but its not the shitty new memory mans. Its the old style with the bucket brigade chip in it. Thank God for my gear nut friend Gabriel

Obviously I know what this is, being a huge pedal junkie, but I tried one of these out at Guitar Center for about a half hour just to play, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to get one single good delay sound out of it. I guess I'm just partial to digital delay, or maybe I needed a few hours and the owner's manual. I should watch some demon on YouTube to see what it can do, though.

I misspoke. I tried the MEMORY BOY. I remember now because I said there much be a HUGE difference. I practically wanted to kill myself when I was done with it, it was so much trouble. But I'm impatient at Guitar Center.

Speaking of pedals, btw, on my wish list right now...

    -EH Big Muff Russian Built
    -EH Soul Preacher Compressor/Sustainer
    -ISP Decimator Noise Reduction
-VooDoo Lab Pedal Power 9v box
    -VooDoo Lab Footswitcher

and if I was being completely unrealistic, let's add...

    -Route 66 OD/Distortion
    -Boss Auto-Wah
    -MXR Eddie Van Halen Phaser
    -Boss Flange

Just need to win the lottery or something, I guess.

It's a sacrifice I'm not excited, but willing, to make to make sure that my guitar's safe & sound

I'm guessing you're sharing a room? In first year I took my Les Paul and my acoustic up with me and said bollocks to it lol - over here all uni. accommodation rooms are single (apart from in a few cases), so I didn't have any worries on such a score, there was plenty of room. Indeed, at one point, I had all 4 of my guitars in my room lol...but yeah, I'm gonna +1 the shout about getting a cheap acoustic, it'll keep you tame

Yeah I'll be sharing a dorm room with someone else. And I've got a cheap $99 Washburn Acoustic, but it's the ONLY acoustic I have and being a Uni student, Harry, as you knowwww, another $100 becomes much harder to just let go of, even if it is on another guitar

I'll mooch off the seasoned guitar pro's on my floor until I return home next month to pick up my six-string

Haha, oh I feel your pain definitely. I've always tried to be a cheapskate anyway lol, so yeah, $100/£70-80 is a hell of a lot, relatively speaking - the sort of money that needs to go towards paying for gas, electricity* etc., or sometimes just a couple of nights out

*we get kicked out of accommodation after first year, so we have to go get our own houses etc., hence the utility bill issue lol...

But yes, guitars, lovely jubbly there are! (before we go too OT )

ya i get that. I bought the memory boy a couple months back and it sucks. I traded in and bougth the Boss DD5 Digital Delay on craigslist. I should mention that the step down from a memory boy is in in my humble oppinion, a huge step up. You can get the EH Memory Toy for about 80 bucks. Its warmer and easier to use than the memory boy...check it out! Now im selling the DD5 for a rare oppurtunity to buy a DMM for $235 which is nearly unheard of. Im partial to analog effects because they dont suck your tone. Most BOSS pedals are notorious for tone sucking. In the case of the DD5 it complately thins out your tone and for the style of music I play thats highly undesirable. I still am shocked to hear that edge has many BOSS pedals. But...it works for him ya know? So if you like the the digital delays thats totally fine im just really into the warm sounds of analog and tube amps
  8. Matt, TAKE your acoustic to the university. It's an order.

  9. Likewise, when I brought my acoustic to college last year it improved my playing 10x

  10. Almost anything is better than sitting and studying. Playing music is for sure!
  11. Pretty sure my parents wanted to hear me say I'd leave it at home for now, for whatever reason (maybe the fact that they're paying multiple thousands of dollars, and would rather me not have one more distraction from studying to earn the educaiton ), and so they're pretty set on me not bringing it now. Don't worry about it- it'll come with me in a few weeks.
