I have found a few that I like, but they definitely don't compete w/ Adam's. I would imagine that all of his cost at least $200+... I'm going to look into them, most of them appear to be made by Levi.

None of Adam's on there, and I could not find a customization option on the site.

You can customize them yourself. =O)

Scott from Joshua Tree (La based U2 tribute) has made a few of his own. All very cool.

  3. I would like to eventually look into creating my own, but for the time being, I don't have the money to spend on things that aren't "necessities" in my rig. Plus, I don't have any skill in working with things like that (or anything else with my hands lol).

You can start on paper. Make a design and then bedazzle and glitter away. Once you have the idea and figure out how to do it, then translate that to a Strap.

Et voila! Problem solved. Sparkle obtained.

Oh yes, I completely forgot about the bedazzle beads! Actually, a few months ago I had an idea to bedazzle some regular dress slacks for stage use. I'll definitely look into those again, thanks.

Another interesting take is that he's playing the part a bit differently. The muted plucking part is there but there is also some organ-like chords via the guitar and his Electro Harmonix POG.

This change in the part might be why he switched guitars. The sustain on the Strat might be better than the Gretsch for the 'organ-like' POG bits.

I think he might be playing a Strat with a synth pickup. The organ sounds EXACTLY like a Roland GR-20 / GR-33. I've had sooo much fun playing with the organ sounds on those, and I think The Edge is as well.

I didn't mean to intimate that ALL of the keyboard tones were The Edge alone.

But The Edge is getting an organ-ish sound from the POG.

And Terry Lawless is under the stage playing some keyboards.
  8. Bono played a black acoustic yesterday, during Knocking On Heaven's Door.... Could it be his old black Yamaha? I hadn't seen it in a little while (no pun intended), although it might be the same than the guitar which was given to the guys who played Angel Of Harlem in Berlin last year (I think).

EDIT. Ignore the Berlin comment. My memory served me wrong, the guy played the green Bono's Falcon, not the black one. So...

I'm just blown away by the fact B-Man's playing a guitar!

  10. Nope.

The most amazing thing is that the guitar HAS GOT VOLUME!!!
  11. Now now... Bono might not be the best guitarist ever but he's far better than some seem to allow credit.

Dallas Schoo has said positive things about Bono's guitar playing. And both Dallas and Daniel Lanois have said that Bono is particularly good in the 'ideas' department when writing songs -- coming up with guitar ideas and such.

The story has it that it was Bono that took Edge's guitar and showed him what direction that he thought "I Will Follow" should go in.

Not saying they need to make "Guitar Hero: The Bono Edition", just sayin...
