  1. My uncle recently gave me quite a few packages of strings for my birthday. Among them were two packages of Elixir acoustics with "nanoweb" coating. I think that they're worth mentioning because I put them on my cheap Ibanez acoustic and it sounds just like Edge's SJ-200. Also, I put them on about a week and a half ago and they sound only a few days old. (To be specific, they're "Elixer Bronze Lights" .12-.53)


  2. Correct, that was a Washburn Woodstock series Festival Acoustic for WOWY on R&H.

    Bono was also playing a Gibson J-160 during the Joshua Tree era. And he also played a tobacco finish Alvarez/Yairi DY56 during The Joshua Tree tour.

    Elixir's are wicked strings. I use them on my acoustic exclusively.

    If he spent half the money on hair products as he did on that guitar in 1987, I wouldn't cringe so much looking at that picture...

  6. U2's coolest fashion phase was the JT tour for me The whole pirate/homeless person look between Bono and Edge kicked ass. Then again, ZooTV and Popmart had some cool outfits.

  9. That purple guitar is the Music Rising guitar that was made for Edge's foundation to support musucians in New Orleans when they lost everything in the flood of hurricane katrina. I guess the look changes from guitar to guitar, I've seen some with green, some with yellow, and the purple Edge is using now.

    Does anyone know if he's used it live for any song yet?


    By the way, now that you mention it: today is the sad 5th anniversary of the day hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans.

    One in Pasadena had an odd looking Les Paul, not to sure about the colour though, since One's lights are all blue

    I saw Dallas soundchecking with this guitar for a while in Hannover.
