1. D'ya know which bass was he using for Even Better Than The Real Thing before the candy red Warwick?
  2. Hi guys!

I have a question about an effect Edge uses.
Now, to be honest, I don't know all the guitar-lingo so I'll try to describe it as good as possible

I'm looking for a pedal that can create the sound Edge had during the vertigo-tour at the beginning of COBL (the extended intro)...I don't know if that sound has a name or not, but is there a single pedal that can create this?

    thanks in advance!

(btw, does anyone know if there's a picture of Edge with his collection of guitars? and I don't mean the one with the guitars in cases).

Not sure if a photo like that exists. If it does, I haven't seen it yet (and support your search).

This is the closest you can get, Edge plus a few guitars under the 360 stage in Barcelona:
  4. Sure others can give more details about speciphic models, but what Edge uses to achieve that sound is a shimmer pedal
  5. Thanks Like A Song!

I'll wait and see if anyone knows any specific model types.

I think I have a picture of Edge around somewhere where he's looking at a large row of guitars, I'll look for it.
  6. Here's a picture of Edge with some of his guitars, only one I have:

Credits go to who made the wallpaper, I have NO idea where I got it from.
  7. Due to all my post my original question mights be overlooked:

Does anyone know which pedal I could get for the shimmer sound at the beginning of the Vertigo-Live version of COBL?

    Thanks!
  8. I think in terms of stomp box type pedals most people will suggest the Line 6 Verbzilla probably...however I thought I read somewhere that it was actually reverse delay for that intro...i'm confused myself

You can get the exact sound from the Line 6 Verbzilla, using the Octo setting on the pedal. There are plenty of demos on YouTube

It's actually a mixture of a bunch of things, including reverse delay, shimmer, mod delay, and probably some reverb.

But yeah the Line 6 Verbzilla will get you pretty much there, (to the guy who originally asked), about 85% of the sound is shimmer alone. The rest of it is for the huge fanatics that need it exactly on par! But yeah the shimmer alone will do just fine.

    thanks for that!

Well, I'll have to save money for a Verbzilla then!
