It used to be performed in G#m/B (however you want to call it) but it was bumped to Am/C in the middle of the 360 Tour, when it swapped positions with Streets (from the Streets>One on te 1st leg to the One>Streets that has happened since the second Chicago 09 show)...... if I'm not wrong.

    Just listen to that tone, and his phrasing is unbelievable. He knows his way around the fretboard so well, the chords and notes he uses are just beautiful. Also, I met the man! He came into my work one time. If you wanna hear the story just ask.

    I know the story, he walked into the store (supermarket?) you were working at the time, and you asked him if he was really Eric Johnson... Wasn't it something like that? I remember we talked about his tunes too. Manhattan is one of my favorite guitar-only songs ever, together with Samba Pa Ti by Santana and Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits. Manhattan is pure beauty merely translated into a guitar song. That intro to Cliffs Of Dover is pure awesomeness as well, it shits over Malmsteem, Vai and all the other virtuosos, without losing the sense of rhythm and key. Perfect.

    Found a clip of U2 miming NYD (France TV - 1983).



    Interesting gear. At first glance, the drum kit looks to be similar to what Larry normally used in the period but the bass, piano and drums... no.

    The Precision bass that Adam has is a 3 tone tobacco. I think his 1972 was two tone. I don't remember it having the amount of red in it that the one in the video has.

    As for Edge's gear in the video... The piano isn't the Yamaha CP-70 that Edge used in that time frame. And I haven't seen that brown Stratocaster before or since.

    So I am guessing it was loaned equipment for the video / TV taping.

    Still cool to see. Nice that after all of these years that I still happen across video that I've not previously seen.

  12. Nay, it hasn't. It was in Db during pretty much every tour up until Vertigo and 360. Again, I'm not certain about JT era but it certainly was Db during Lovetown onwards.
