It's normal that they have retained BD's original key or even Vertigo (even though I believe it was dropped to Eb sometimes? Might be wrong again, huh...), after all they've been performed in "just" two or three tours... But I was wondering about older tours, with 4 or more tours. Pride has changed, NYD has changed, Streets has (surprisingly for me) changed, SBS has changed, that kind of stuff. Maybe 40 is the only one (and Party Girl, as I told on the original post ) who has retained its original key ever since...

Virtually 100% certain they've never changed key for Vertigo, but yeah I know stuff like BD were fairly safe in staying the same etc. like I said at the time, I was just thinking 'out loud' on here, so to speak. NYD? I'm pretty much certain that NYD's never changed, fairly sure it's always been in Ab minor, so actually that would be one example of a song that's always retained the same key both live and on the album, i.e. one that has stayed the same throughout. That said, if anyone's got proof to the contrary, fair dues lol, but I'm pretty much absolutely certain it's never been subject to a key change because it wasn't until the Elevation tour that they started using guitars in standard tuning on stage. Everything was in Eb tuning apart from Edge's alternative tuning for Unforgettable Fire, I'm pretty much confident on that?

  2. Joshua Tree tour.
  3. Just in case anyone's interested in a small html tuner that can be easily embeded anywhere:

  4. What are the guitars The Edge uses in Love and Peace or Else and The Fly during Vertigo Tour?

It's a Line 6 Variax, but I can't remember if it was called Variax 300 or Variax 700.
  6. Hi,

Does anyone know a good compressor pedal? I've been looking at the Boss CS-3, but also hearing some complaints about it.
So, is there anything else in that, or a slightly higher, price-range?

(EDIT: ok.....just found some posts about compressors in this topic, so, I should be looking for a Dynacomp 76 issue or a Maxon probably, unless there's something I'm missing)

Also, what should I get if I want to make it possible to send my guitarsignal through 2 channels? Meaning, that I can add shimmer, delay or whatever through another channel and turn off that channel whenever I want (so basically, two effect channels).

oohw, just another question (sorry, I'm very curious today)
I have a couple of Epiphones I was thinking of replacing one's humbuckers with original Gibson versions.....are these guitars worth this upgrade and is there a substantial added value when I do?....and if so, which humbuckers should I put in to my Explorer or Dot Deluxe to get more of a U2 sounds into them.

    any ideas?

    Thanks

    mike
  7. New Electro-Harmonix pedal -

    Ravish Sitar

As Edge has used Electro Harmonix pedals in the past... (Deluxe Memory Man, Big Muff, Holier Grail, Micro-Synth &Hot Tubes) ...I wonder if Edge has one and will use one on the next album and tour? I think that he could make some good use of it.

It does to MORE than just 'sitar'. And perhaps it could add some new tones into older tunes, like Mysterious Ways? Just a thought...

Danelectro made a 'sitar' pedal a few years back but it was garbage. This one seems pretty cool and sounds far better than the Danelectro pedal.

EH has come up with some interesting ideas over the past few years... THIS, the POG, the HOG... as well as great standards like the Big Muff and Deluxe Memory Man.

Line 6 Variax 700 acoustic. They are no longer made.

That guitars have a variable set of sound settings and tunings. Take a look: http://line6.com/variaxacoustic/index.html

  10. The Line 6 Variax 700 acoustics were used in a more electric guitar fashion. Those were played through his effects rack / amps.

Check about 4:18 into this video.

  11. Probably a direct box and that ran through some reverb at the mixing desk.
