1. Right now I'm playing my Rickenbacker almost exclusively. I love the sound it gives, it's so unique. Right now my band is in the writing process again (having played a few gigs with our originals, we thought we should write some more for the next few gigs) and I'm only bringing the Rickenbacker to practise. Very awesome guitar.
  2. Yesterday I was surprised to see that Edge used a Rickebacker on Lovetown. I thought he began using one on ZooTV.
  3. How often do you people think that one should change strings?
  4. Depends how often you play and how clean your hands are when you do. I'd say every few weeks if you play every day. That's acoustic, electric you can probably get longer out of them. It's all personal choice though, I'm a lazy feck lately when it comes to strings.
  5. I broke my e string the other day - not for the first time, or the second time for that matter. It's a pain the arse replacing them; just need to find the motivation to do it.

I used to change them once a month, but as of late I've gotten lazy. Usually I just change them whenever I start feeling them go dead, or when I can start hearing the tone falter. Some would say the tone of new strings falters have a day or two of playing, but I don't really consider the tone to go really bad to the point of needing new strings until a month or two, maybe three after.

I also change them before each show, best to have new strings for a live performance. Seeing as how I don't perform too too often, it's not that much of a hassle to follow this routine!
  7. I should probably change strings at least on my acoustic guitar then. I don't use my electric that much, but I should probably change them too, they're nearly one year old.

But soon I'll only use my Epi Sheraton anyway, haha When I played that one in the store, I felt that If God Will Send His Angels would fit so well with its tone. I can't wait. Hopefully I get a telephone call from the store on Wednesday...

  8. Welcome to the club I buy packs of E strings off eBay regullarly. Yes, only E strings. The rest of them bear with my fingers pretty well. It's just that little bastard...

Yeah, the e string is a little shit. I was tuning from Open D to Standard, and it snapped - I think it was because I was tuning up too fast. As you can tell, I was obviously playing Even Flow by Pearl Jam...
  10. I remember when I broke my first string, I was so shocked.

That's the worst part of it, when they break when you're tuning... If they break while you're playing, well, you can tell you're excited enough to have broken it, that's ok... But when you're tuning? Oh, man, you're relaxed and suddenly... CLINNGGG!!! Oooohhh I hate ittt
  12. It sure is quite scary when it happens.
