I hate the sound when it snaps - it's the sound of complete devastation in your head - and also, it sounds very frightening too. The first time a string broke on my guitar was when my brother was playing - he was playing Pink Floyd (which requires a fair amount of string bending), and then 'e' snapped. I was pissed off, because I really wanted to play it after him.
There is someone in my year who is absoutely pro at guitar in my year, and he uses steel nickel string. One time, he was playing and his string snapped, and actually cut his arm up, at least a few inches - it looked horrible & violent. People had thought that he had properly cut himself delibrately
