1. It's a cheap, tiny tube amp designed to be just that. It would be twice as expensive in real wood. I wouldn't worry about it that much

The vinyl (?) covering will guarantee longevity for the cabinet, as long as you don't spill beer on it, or set it down in a puddle.
  2. Ok a question for the more experienced electric guitar players here.

I'm trying to play Go Your Own Way and I can't seem to get the right tone. I have an Epi Explorer connected to my M13 going to a Vox Pathfinder 15R.

At the moment, I'm only using the Classic Distortion model (meant to be the ProCo Rat) but am not happy with the tone - it seems either too brittle (and thrashy sounding) and if I turn the drive down then not distorted enough. It needs to be a warm, thick tone and i'm completely new to effects so not sure what to do as there seems to be ten thousand permutations of guitar, effects unit and amp settings to sift through.

    Anyone have any ideas?

My guitar settings are tone set to 0 and use the neck pickup with is set to 6 or 7
  3. 20€ plus 20€ of shipping is something to consider though.

I don't like that effect it makes very difficult to play in time, and it doesn't extend the sustain enough to make it sound like an ebow, so it's pretty much useless in my humble opinion. Anyway: let the forum's big fishes speak

Just 15€ to Sweden actually. And it would be an addition to a big order I'm gonna make, so shipping isn't to worry about.

So you've tried the effect and you didn't like it, am I right?
  5. Not that specific one by Behringer but yes. I mean, it can be fun if you want to experiment around a bit or spice things up in a boring playing evening, but it will soon become a nightmare when you try to use it to play along to anything.
If you want sustain, do yourself a favour, save the price of 3 of those pedals and get an e-bow. If you want that special volume swelling (I don't like it, but some people do), do it manually by playing with the volume knobs - or buying an expression/volume pedal.
  6. Can someone elaborate on Edge’s sequencer use for me, please?

  7. I don't think Edge really does it anymore, it's probably triggered by one of the many people who now reside under the stage. Back on the UF tour he'd trigger sequences for Bad (which was just a loop) or the one for Unforgettable Fire (which lasted the entire song, meaning if the band had a timing mistake or something the sequence would be off time). They used them on the JT tour with WOWY and stuff and even moreso on the ZooTV tour, a ton of songs used sequences, but I think it was around this point when Edge stopped triggering them himself. He has enough to worry about these days running around the stage!
  8. I've missed this topic.

I'm thinking I'm gonna sell my Line 6 Spider IV 15 W which I pretty much hate and get a Vox Pathfinder 15R instead. They seem to have quite a good reputation on forums, mainly for great cleans, and sound pretty darn great in some clips I've seen. Feist uses them live too and sounds good, she surely has other options. Yet to try one though, gonna do that next week. And I already know you can do a mod on them where you cut out two LEDs in the circuitry which gives them a much rawer distortion than the fuzzy one those LEDs give. They're analog which speaks to me. I hate the effects on my Spider anyway, they suck. And it has an, although not very strong, real spring reverb built in

    And it's Vox... Vox=cool
  9. Do it. The pathfinders are great. You should check out the AC4TV models too, they get good words thrown their way!

  10. More expensive too though, and not as good looking (even though they're certainly cool)... I heard they have an earlier break up. That doesn't speak to its advantage. I like cleans a lot too. But I should probably try one.
