  1. You'd be surprised, Epi LP's are at a decent price on the new market, so knocking a few dollars off the pricetag for some buyers is EXTREMELY attractive. Guitars are easier to sell than you'd think!

  2. Got the Joyo Sweet Baby today. It sounds like the overdrive I've been looking for. Very smooth overdrive and extremely responsive to pick attack. The Focus knob does really make a difference for when the breakup points happen.

    Now I'm questioning whether I need the Bad Monkey or not. Also gonna be looking to pick up a distortion pedal some time. I want one with a dry, sterile sound that takes a bit of the soul out of the sound to give it a... well, different incomplete soul.

  4. Watched some Proco Rat demos... Sounded good but felt like it was either a lot of distortion... Or an insane amount. Had no real low distortion setting. I'd also prefer something "colder". Any more suggestions?

    I watched two demos of the EHX Germanium 4 Big Muff Pi... Not the sound I'm looking for, but damn did it sound incredibly amazing...

    Also looking at reverbs. TC Electronic Hall Of Fame seems like a good one. One tough question though is how much do I need shimmer like for example the Verbzilla has?

    the rat you need to look at is an older rat from the 90s. those have the much sought after lm308 which makes the distortion harsh when you want it but also smooth.

    as for shimmer. I would personally like to recommend the strymon blue sky. totally amazing and probably not too much more expensive then the tc. Great sounding unit.

  8. Alright....lost without an answer, so yet again I turn to U2start with some guidance. This is going to sound a little ridiculous but bear with me.

    I'm in the process of perfecting my pedalboard. The actual board itself, not necessarily what's on it. I'm cutting out new slabs of wood, I've purchased a power supply unit and I'm working on getting the DC connectors ordered. Next come low profile, flat-ended patch cables to tighten it up, and last but not least I'll be routing the cabling underneath the board to make it look nice and clean. Here's where the last little luxury I want to add comes in.

    On a lot of pedal boards that you can just straight up buy pre-wired, there is just a simple 1/4" jack on the side of the board...one for in, one for out...and the pedals are all routed into the board. This way, when you're gigging, you don't have cables straying from the two opposite ends of your board out of two pedals- its from one clean location that isn't actually directly attached to a pedal at all. Basically I want to purchase a box that I can build into the side of the board and route my first and last pedal in and out of. Here's an example:

    Guitar > Cable > Mystery Box IN (underneath board, right side) > TC Polytune (route up through board and into input jack) > etc etc etc etc pedals > Mystery Box OUTPUT (connecting cable routed back underneath board) > Cable > Amp

    Does any of this make sense?!?

    I want to refrain from buying a simple A/B switcher to get the job done if possible.

  9. Back when I used a pedalboard I wondered the same thing. There are so many little things you don't think about until you're finalizing a pedalboard, like that, like the power supply and giving the correct voltage to your units, etc.

    Glad to see you've solved that mystery! Those look hella useful.
  10. And today I managed to find a store that carried the low-profile, flat ended patch cables! You would be amazed at how much room they save...I'm not used to using them and I rigged my whole board up with them- so much nicer looking!!

    Oh, almost forgot to mention they had a used one of these bad boys too so I mean I pretty much had to pick one up....

    The Bluesky is double the price of the TC.

    Yesterday I actually became interested in a multi-fx.... The TC Nova System. It seems really interesting and I'd sell my Boss DD-20 that I'm not 100% satisfied with. It has an analog dist/OD circuit. I really want to try one at least.
