  1. Well, as I said it has analog dists and drives. Things like pitch effects, your delay, most reverbs pedals, and many modulations (especially if they're time based) are digital anyway. And I think it was a cheaper Digitech thing you had wasn't it? I'd think TC would be better.

    I think shipping the DD-20 would be a bit too expensive.
    Anyway, it's nothing I am decided on. I hope to try one soon though.
  2. I was merely teasing about the DD20

    And yes, most of the reverbs are digital- at least the ones you and I have been looking at- so that's really not a bad route to go honestly. I was always fairly satisfied with the reverb and whammy options within the Digitech, but I've officially phased that out of my board.

    I totally agree on "digital sucks" if we're talking dist/OD... That's when we can talk processed sounding.
  4. The greatness is on the fingers. Forget about a reverb being digital or analog, or your multi effect unit not being the best around, and improve your playing&ear skills instead. The effects will come afterwards and only then you'll get the most of them. Mark Knopfler playing a $90 Strat copy into a 10W amp will sound better than most of us playing a $1200 guitar through a $350 effects chain and into a 100W valve amp. Just sayin'

  8. Ok, so I actually got kind of interested in a Squier Classic Vibe 60's Strat yesterday. A store has one in Candy Apple Red which just hangs on the wall screaming for me.

  11. The Classic Vibes seem to have a pretty good reputation though.

    I want to try a Fender Classic Series though, I tried a MIM Standard and it just felt wrong for me. Didn't like the neck and the fretboard. And I don't think the Classic Player Strats are for me either based on what I've felt while playing Strats. A 12" fretboard radius would feel to flat to me I'm sure.
  12. I think pedals won the pedals vs multi-fx battle in my head again. One very good reason for pedals is to be able to choose each sound yourself.

    I've changed my mind a bit about what kind of distortion I think I'm looking for, looking for something a bit warmer than what I was before. I like my tone to be "organic". This distortion pedal sounds pretty great. And no, even though the name might make you think so, it's not a heavy metal pedal.



    TC have some holiday special thing where you get two pedals and get an extra Spark Booster which seems to be a damn good pedal too. Since I've been looking at the Hall Of Fame reverb... I'm tempted now that I'm interested in the Dark Matter too. They're pretty expensive pedals though, 150 dollars. The Spark Booster that you get extra is 150 too though.
