1. What do you mean with not being sure if I'll make the most of it? I haven't bought it for Mysterious Ways if that's what you think...
  2. I think I'll post a full gear-update at some point soon, but for now I just wanted to share with you guys the latest and greatest mods I had done to my Line 6 M9.

-I got new switches put on it because mine were ceasing to function (apparently a problem with most of these things if you use them long enough - you can blame Line 6 for that)

-A dedicated scene select button (if you have an M9 you know how annoying trying to hit those two buttons together gets)

-And an overall sound quality boost, I read the technical details about it and didn't understand half of them but from what I understand it's something in the circuitry that reduces noise and clarifies the effects. Along with that sound quality boost an overall DSP output knob was installed, which I can foresee being super handy.

I do own an M13 as well, but I don't use it nearly as much because I just find it too big and it gets annoying trying to bring it anywhere. Not only that, but I like limiting myself to only three effects per sound, it keeps the guitar's identity intact and makes it more fun for me to try and make the most out of a minimal amount of effects. Not trying to bash guys around here who use a ton or anything like that, it's just the kind of player I've become.

    Here's a pic!:

  3. Went looking at guitars, mostly Strats, with two friends today. One of them found what he was looking for... He loved the Fender Classic Series 70s model, that's in ash. I loved it too, but not as much... And I didn't really like the neck, didn't quite feel right. Although.... This:

That guitar was in a store I've never been in before, little, very cozy personal store with a lot of used guitars too. And... The guy who had it was Irish!! And... He said he once sold a Pod to U2. Infinite respect.

I think I found my new favorite guitar store.
  4. My brother has a a 70s Strat and it's drool-tastic.

The A3 is an expansive unit...but really the only great sound as far as my opinion is concerned is the mysterious ways sound. I think thats all sergio was trying to say....

and Alex, Jeff and anyone else interested...im picking up my strat today! Its my old standby. Its a simple 2007 Mexican STandard that I had completely overhauled. Brand new switches, pots and capacitors (the latter of which I hand picked for tone quality (.047 orange drops). New black pick gaurd to match Edges strat. Blocked off the tremolo for increased sustain since I prefer to neck bend. And last but certainly not least. Lollar vintage blackface pickups. Theyre wound like 60s strats. Its gonna sound outrageous.

and for anyone whose curious my youtube account is Mrvegeta365. Ill be posting soundclips of my guitars and pedals
  6. Well, I'd disagree about the Korg. The Zooropa sound is also pretty great for example. Also, some of that "cold" early digital dist and od is pretty cool. Gives a different sound.

  7. this is the strat. Sounds fantastic. let me know what you guys think :)
  8. That blackie looks awesomeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
  9. Funnily enough, I just managed to take the first trustworthy, reliable photo of my Strat's unique finish... It's not that shiny, it's a tiny bit darker in person, but at least the emeral finish is shown like it is!

  10. I was tuning after changing strings, and my spanish guitar's headstock has violently crashed. Fuck! Never suffered this accident before. Let's hope the fretboard and the general structure hasn't suffered any damage...

  11. probably too high gauge strings. what a bummer
  12. Same gauge as always Nah, the tuning machines are old as fuck (probably 30 years or more, almost as much as the guitar itself) and they probably couldn't handle yet another string change + tuning session. What a bummer, yeah. I hope its excellent sound doesn't change much when I change the headstock machines...
