1. High-end Stratocaster or Telecaster... for your Edge needs... but without the Fender Custom Shop prices?

Two guitar makers come to mind. King Bee and Nash.

I've seen a lot of the relic'd and various Fender Custom Shop guitars. They are cool. They are decent guitars. But many of them are in the $2200-$5000 range, depending on the guitar.

King Bee Guitars - Their bass model T-Style (Tele) or S-Style (Stratocaster) start at $999. The guitars are great. The finish works is great. And the Lollar pickups sound fantastic.

While their basic/base model is $999, they will make guitars to order. So if you want more relic'ing vs. closet classic look or you have other pickup specs in mind... Porter pickups, Lollars, you name it... TV Jones... These guys can do it - and even with more work and other items than the base model, you can still get a Tele, Strat or Jazzmaster type guitar for under $2K = cheaper than Fender Custom Shop.

Another great guitar maker is Bill Nash (out of Washington state). They over a variety of Stratocaster, Telecaster and Jazzmaster style guitars. And they have a ton of great vintage color finishes too. You want a Fiesta Red Tele that LOOKS like a vintage, aged-faded Fiesta Red.... These guitars can do it. I've seen the Nash guitars in the $1600 to $2200 range - depending upon components. They still come in cheaper than a lot of the Fender Custom Shop guitars.

Nash also makes some Precision and Jazz bass copies that are quite good.

Both offer some great guitars at prices that are more than competitive with Fender Custom Shop. I highly recommend both guitar makers - They make some great guitars for the budding Edge or Adam tribute folks out there.
  2. i can speak to the awesomness that is Lollar pick ups. LOVE mine in my strat.
  3. It has been way too long since this topic has been active...

well new gear updates. I bought a fernandes native guitar and installed kent armstrong p90s. love the sound of it. it nails discotheque like nothing ive ever played.

also bought a 5 watt epiphone valve jr to run with my vox night train. sounds killer. played them both together last night and i was blown away.

also right now im using an empress vintage modified super delay. which is incredible but am trading it for 1978 deluxe memory man and a boss dd7. which im stoked about. whats going on with my other gear heads? Alex, Jeff? Sergio?
  4. I want an Epiphone Valve Jr.!! Ugh!

What speaker are you putting it through?
  5. Just ordered a Build Your Own Clone - Scrambled Octave kit. A clone of a certain Ampeg Scrambler that a certain guitarist we like uses on a certain song called "Kite".

Wish me luck with building it. I'm not very worried though.

Here's a demo (with rather shitty sound), I think it seems like a really cool pedal:

  6. Thinking I might be nice to myself and get one of the really fancy delay pedals when I get my salary. An Eventide Timefactor or a Strymon Timeline perhaps. Really like that the Timefactor can do dual delays on everything.

i have the el cap. do yourself a favor and just stick with the el cap or brig. the timeline is awesome but the brig or el cap will do all you need to and will be cheaper

I'm actually kind of leaning more towards the Eventide Timefactor than a Strymon pedal. Really, really like that all the delays on it are dual delays if you want them to be.

Also thinking I might get a Line 6 M5 for reverb, shimmer and messing around with.
  9. hey guys, does anyone have any info on this little number? (ie. specs, what song(s) its used on if any, etc)

fender jaguars are my favourite guitars ever and i've never seen edge with one apart from in this picture.
  10. It's a Lake Placid Jaguar (wonderful one!). Edge plays it on the Electrical Storm video (although it's black and white there). Go around the 3:05 mark to see it, not sure if it apears earlier in the vid too.

  11. He possibly bought it around the Elevation Tour era, possibly in New York. And possibly in 48th Street Custom Guitars, as seen on this video (5:35 onwards, after he plays the Streets riff on a Jazzmaster at Rudy's):

  12. ^ sweet, cheers for the info sergio. he definitely should bring it out more often!
