    I thought I'd go for an amp that I will have for life. Paid good money for it so it should be a worthy investment.

  8. Easy. Because these pickups don't fit his sound nor his playing style.
  9. They reduce excess hum, and basically act as their own refiner and compressor.
    So, why not?

    I fucking love them.

  11. You just can't go wrong with the £50 Boss DS-1 or Boss SD-1 - these are basic, straightforward distorsions that will keep you rocking for a good while. If you want something more sofisticate, maybe an Ibanez TS-808 or an Ethos Overdrive (there are cheaper new Epiphone Casinos than this pedal y'know) might serve you.
