  1. I'm about to get a new guitar, just to avoid taking the Strat out of home every time I go to a jam or friend rehearsals.

    Pretty different among them, I know, but all of them have humbuckers and single coils (or dual-coil humbuckers) for the sake of versatility, and all of them look neat Any suggestions for what should I go for? The Michael Kerry is probably the best option for a long term guitar, but then again I would be just as scared to bump it as with my '89 american Strat I have a soft spot for the Ibanez SA-260 as it looks so Mark Knopfler/Santana-ish...
  2. My vote would honestly be for the SZ320, but that Michael Kerry is absolutely gorgeous.

  4. I do too, but mostly for (semi) hollows, I don't really fuss about their all solid guitars. That G5421 is gorgeous, has a different look and is cheap, but it isn't my preferred option out of that bunch. Its biggest up is that it's the only new one while the rest are second hand (I don't care about second hand, all my current guitars are, but it would be nice to get something new, for a change). Let's see!!

    Only obvious downside is the price tag. I will see if the guy is up to some haggling, if I can have it for <300 bucks it will be great.

    I'd say the Gretsch, 'cause that's one beautiful axe!

    I'm working towards getting an Ibanez RC320, just can't decide on the finish.

    The Gretsch is a Gretsch and that's some quality and good looking guarantee, sure, but I prefer the look of virtually any other option in there
  7. A friend of mine hunts bargain guitars on eBay as a hobby and he knew I was looking for a cheap guitar that I could carry to the rehearsals and all, so he sent me this link:

    Another one will be bought soon, probably the Gretsch above if I cant get it a bit cheaper on that store.

    So maybe in hindsight it's not too far off to say that his go-to axes these days are Teles or the Casino. He certainly seems less inclined to go for a Strat or an LP unlike the 80s / 90s. Thoughts?
  11. I was going to post something regarding the Tele and Crystal Ballroom. I KNEW that was a twangy Tele song from the moment I heard it

    My thought is that he seems to choose the Tele or the Casino for newly, scarcely rehearsed songs. If they are to debut a song, odds are that Edge might pick up one of these guitars instead of the LP, the Explorer or the Strat. Why? I'm inclined to think it might not have to do with the sound, but with the feel of the axe in question. Tele has a very distinctive weight balance and neck touch that no other guitar can give.
