1. Here you can't really tell if he's playing the e-bow due to the low image quality, but you can see he's leaving it on the piano at 3:05:

  2. Apart from that, I don't know of any other songs in which he's played the e-bow live. I thought he used ebow for the final part of the LIB solo (the extra sustained part after the proper solo ends and before Bono's final verse) but I just checked it out and he doesn't, it must be a sustain/compressor pedal.
  3. Weird! I JUST bought one!

I think I saw Edge using an ebow during WOWY. I can't remember which tour/show it was though. Perhaps he uses the ebow as a back up if the infinite guitar isn't working. I bet it's really difficult to use when playing WOWY since you have to go from the sustained part to the normal guitar part pretty quickly.

@Alex - Cool, I hope you enjoy using it! Would love to have one myself.
  5. Very, very interesting article Sergio. Great find!

Still kinda surprised that Edge uses heavier strings. I think he uses 10's and perhaps 11's on his Les Paul's? Not entirely sure though. I would've have thought that thinner, more delicate strings would have made things more brighter and more chimey. I guess not.

I didn't know Edge did a little project with an artist called Jah Wobble. I thought the only projects he did were the Captive soundtrack and that album he and Brian Eno were on in the mid 90's that I can't remember the name of (and Passengers, ofc).

WOWY is allegedly the other song for which he's used the ebow either live and in the studio, but I haven't been able to find any footage from it.

Glad you enjoy the interview, I was surprised about that side project too. Remember it's a 1985 interview, so there are some details that 30 years later seem weirdly out of place. About the thicker strings, well, I kind of expected him to use thinner ones too but I'm not surprised he uses 10s or even 11s. I've tried 9s on a Explorer and a Les Paul and they feel like toy strings.
  7. I think you can see Edge using the EBow during WOWY on the Rose Bowl dvd?
  8. I think he's using the Infinite guitar in that performance.
  9. I've never seen Edge playing the ebow during WOWY, he always does that left hand sliding + vibrato thing with the Fernandes sustainer (he used to do it with the blackie Strat as well):

    0:55 here:

    0:25 here, very obvious:

I don't recall an ebow in WOWY ever.
  10. He uses an ebow on WOWY during the Sydney DVD too

  11. Check between :40-:50
