    Blah... just being a dork in that blue is my favorite colour. My drum kit is midnight blue. First electric guitar was a Danectro reissue in blue suede fade finish (no not really made of suede) and my Danelectro 12-string is in blue sparkle.

    Do you know for which songs specifically he deviated from his Vox? I'm sure Elevation on Elevation tour, but do you know any others? Any idea which amp models he's using?

    On stage and in the studio might vary. And while he may have used a Fender Bassman in the studio, for a particular track, he might be using a Fender Bassman model on the Line 6 Pod on stage.

    For ATYCLB, Edge said that a lot of the distortion tones were from a 1970's Hi-Watt combo amp, while many of the clean were from a Fender Bassman.

    Per The Edge in Guitar Player magazine [January 2001]}
    "The intro to 'Elevation' was the GIbson SG - "an old fuzz of Daniel's (Kay Fuzz) - Fender Bassman".

    When asked What's that huge distortion sound that bearges in during the main riff?, The Edge answered: "That's the Hi-Watt".

    When asked HOw did you get the lovely clean tones on "Stuck In A Moment" and "In A Little While?" The Edge answered: "I Have a great `50's Strat, and I plugged it straight into the Bassman."

    "Walk On" is "...a white Les Paul that I've had for a long time (the auctioned 1975) through the AC30. The solo on that tune is my Gibson Explorer through the AC30"

    The (slide) olo on "Kite" was " `64 Gretsch Country Gentleman into a cool fuzzbox - an Ampeg Scrambler - and a Vox AC30"


    AS FOR POP:
    Per Flood - Guitar World magazin [September 1997]:
    "Flood estimates that 70 percent of the guitar sounds on Pop were generated through a Vox AC30 amp: "Edge loves the AC30's; he has them coming out his ears. He's also got a Randall and a Fender Bassman that we used. And very occaxsionally, for something differenct, we'd try a Mesa/Boogie or a Marshall."

    Per Dallas Schoo (same 1997 article):
    "The Edge has a pair of Randall RG80 combos that he uses for his "Crunch" tones. (These amps were used during the ZOO and POPMART tours)

    What would have been impressive would have been if Edge had contrived to switch to the Explorer for the solo alone during live performances before switching back to the LP

    That would be a pain in the ass. Course he could make a custom doubleneck. I'm shure he and Dalas could figure a good way to have one neck with LP tones, and one with Explorer tones.

    In U2 by U2, Edge commented most of War was recorded on a Fender amp he borrowed, off someone. Combine, that with the lack of delay, and the fact his Explorerseeems to be entirely MIA, and you have the cleanest guitar ever, on a U2 record, which oddly adds to the albums gritty feel.

    Ha, yeah, but would be perhaps slightly pointless if the only song it was really necessary was Walk On which has only been played once in full electric since the Elevation tour...

    Lots of artist use doublenecks on only one or two songs regularly.

    the day Edge plays a doubleneck on stage is the day I stop listening to U2.
