The setup is the first key. If your guitar is buzzing, it's annoying and not inspiring. If the action is too high and you're 'fighthing' your guitar... it's annoying and you will give up.

The pickup changes will help your Squier sound FAR better and a great sounding guitar (vs. a bad sounding guitar) is inspiring - you'll play more - you'll learn more - you'll ROCK more!!!!

I don't really fight it, and (i don't think) it doesn't buzz. I'm already been playing all day lol

I did, but the place didn't have them in stock, so we just bought it all seperatly, and it was like $25 cheaper

At the end of the day, does it work for you. That is what matters most. I am not a fan of Ibanez guitars but they've been a favorite of Steve Vai for 20+ years. Doesn't mean they are bad or good... just means Steve Vai likes them and I don't.

Indeed, everyone has a different take on stuff; my mate got hold of a PRS around the same time as I got my Epiphone LP. Admittedly, tis quite nice as far as guitars go, but I can't stand spikey guitars, hence I seriously dislike stuff like SGs etc.

On the other hand, I got the white LP Custom, and I've had a couple of friends say it's too "Justin Hawkins/Darkness-ey" for their liking, and I think "well, I don't really care" lol. I wanted an LP, I have an LP, I'm happy as Lardence. On a similar note, my bro (who has a Yamaha Strat. that he's had for years, and wants a Tele.) was giving my LP a go after I first got it (I was at work at the time), and he told me that he didn't like it, and I just replied "well that's good, 'cause it wasn't bought for you!".

EDIT - I am in the same bought as Jeff though re. Ibanez, I don't like them either but that's ok because I'm not intending to get hold of one lol. Personal preference is a big part of music
  12. Not to overshadow our new budding guitarist (as the beginning is always the most exciting part), but I just placed an order for a Vox Classic Plus AC50CP2 from Musician's Friend. I have thought this over for a long time, and considered going for the AC30...but the AC50 is more powerful, less expensive, and has the control panel on the front of the amp which I find easier to work with than on top as in the AC30. I am positively stoked. What are your thoughts on this? As we've discussed, Edge has held Voxes in high regard for many years.
