No you didn't, but now you have, and yes I want to get them but am skint at the moment lol. The more people go on about them, the more I feel sad about my relative state of abject poverty...(relative being the operative word!)

Another question re. Edge - are you aware if he's ever played Bad on anything but a Strat.?

SKINT - I'm sorry to hear that. I have been there. I too was once a starving, Top Ramen eating, old ragged clothes wearing, college student. Hopefully, finances will get better for you... you're a good enough lad... although I am still more worth of receiving Edge Clapton Strat

BAD - I've never seen him use anything but a black and white Stratocaster. (Could be a few different of the B&W Strat's but a B&W Strat all the same.

Listen to the June 1992 era recordings of BAD. Rotterdam comes to mind... Stockholm too...
Edge was using the WH-1 Whammy Pedal during "Bad" adding some extra "fun" to the song.

I LOVE that he did that, it sounded great and he proceeded to STOP doing it after the Euro leg of ZOO TV. "What The Edge"?!?!?!?!?! He should do that again! It was neat!

Ha, I need the Clapton Strat. more than you nur nur n-nur nur!

And re. Bad I AGREE! I first came across it on the 2nd Stockholm ZooTV show and still love it. Sort of Morello-esque modulation type thingy, think thouest not? He added some funk to it, in any case

That said, my favourite version of Bad is the Dublin New Year 1990 show, always blows me away (despite the lack of snippets) plus the 2005-10-20 Washington version where he starts singing People Have The Power at full pelt. Aforementioned Euro ZooTV renditions still kick arse though, fo sho!

All that you mentioned are great versions of "BAD". I remember when I heard them soundchecking it in Glendale, AZ and then playing it that night... First time on the Vertigo tour, if memory serves... Needless to say... when I heard them rehearsing it - I had CHILLS.

Rhonda gve me a copy of a UF era show.... with what is, I think, the LONGEST version of BAD ever. Sounds cool as feck too. I will have to look at that disc and find which show that was...

Sounds like one of the East Rutherford shows, there's one which comes in at a good 20 minutes and (unsurprisingly) holds the record for the longest ever performance. I need to get hold of a PopMart version soonish though
  5. Didn't they tune Bad down a full step during Popmart? I also love that Rutherford version, the longest one. Have it on my ipod, love it.

Speaking of East Rutherford... listen to the beginning of "Even Better Than The Real Thing"... opening night of ZOOTV OUTSIDE BROADCAST...

No idea, hence I wanna get hold of one lol! Would be understandable considering Bono's voice...

Would that be the show WITH Lou Reed turning up for Satellite of Love or not? I'm guessing it is...what am I listening for?

Listen for what Bono says during the "intro".
  9. Hey, what's up with the new Squire basses? They have a new "Classic" line that looks pretty cool.

For my next (standard) Jazz bass I'm torn between going with the sunburst finish or a white one and swapping out the pickguard with a tortoiseshell one like Adam's.

LMFAO! That surely can't be for you can it?! Is it actually? Fuck...that's uber if it is lol!

I love the version of WGRYWH with Bono playing acoustic, I'm guessing they did that at other shows too but that's not the point, this version is uber

I was at the Hershey rehearsal a few days before and I did have a long talk with Bono about "Even Better Than The Real Thing" and I did see him again before that NJ show.

Can I say 'definitely' that I was the one he was referring to? No. But there is a an assured coincidence.

Damn, sure is a good coincidence lol...I'm gonna assume it was for you

Anyway, I said that Bono played acoustic for WGRYWH at said show, but having just watched a video of a Lakelands performance, I'm thinking it was his black Gibson hollow-body thingy that he used for the tour...
