    I'm not too worried about getting rid of a fender. I've played many guitars in the past few days, and for whatever reason, I felt that I got the most out of the Mustangs. The Telecasters just aren't really what I want right now. My Spencer Strat can sound almost exactly like a Fender Telecaster, depending on the effects I run through my amp. I'm not really wanting another Stratocaster, as I already have one, so it will be the Mustang. I probably won't keep it stock, anyway.

    Well, it all depends on the effects, obviously. I've played one with no effects running through a small amp, they have a very "scratchy" sound to them. Similar to a Gibson SG....A very unique sound.

    Sounds interesting. They look pretty cool too, I ran a search on google images and they look unique also.

    Yes, they're very unique. And they're fairly cheap (compared to Strats, Teles, etc.)

I lost the inspiration and motivation to play. Sad eh? But then I started listening to U2, and I was like "I want to play electric" So I did! Now that guitar is just a wreck. I should really get it fixed up.

    But yeah, I've only got a basic setup, always have, but I agree with the "it can be better!" motto, tis why I wanted another guitar. I like my Strat., shit as it is lol, but the tone was too thin for me where certain U2 songs are concerned, and I love Les Pauls, so I figured an Epi. LP was the ticket. Or an Explorer if the LP was out of the question...and now I have it, I can vary my style a lot more

    Well, not better lol...but it's a special piece in my life . I love playing my semi-acoustic, what with it being my first guitar like any acoustic, it's versatile, because pretty much anything sounds good on it lol

    Whammy / tremolo, same thing. "Whammy" I guess is the "cool" word for it, but tremolo is what I find when I google "whammy bar". And It says both Squer and Fender on the head, but "squier" is in bigger letters, so I think its squier.

    the head says this:

    "Squier Strat by Fender" so I'm not really sure

    Heh, remember, I don't do technicalities. I just remember someone calling it a whammy bar when I was around, and I associate tremolo with something else that I can't remember so no worries!

    And yeah, Squier are a licensed reproducer of Fender guitars along the lines of the relationship between Epiphone and Gibson. They do mass-produced versions, where Fender and Gibson handmake their guitars, hence the big price differential

    yeah, I only paid $99 for it used. Its in such good condition, you would think that it's brand new
