And yeah, Squier are a licensed reproducer of Fender guitars along the lines of the relationship between Epiphone and Gibson. They do mass-produced versions, where Fender and Gibson handmake their guitars, hence the big price differential![]()
Not necessarily "licenced". Squier was Fender's name for guitars coming out of their Japan factory in the 1980's. Back then, Squier wasn't a 'bad word'. Unfortunately, many (not all) of the Squier's surfacing today are not so good; fret issues, electronics issues, weak pickups, tuning issues... the list goes on.
Edge used a Squier and had it fit with the pickups that worked with Michael Brooks "Infinite Guitar" system.
