  1. Yes indeed. A Squier is much different than Fender. A lot of people think Epiphone is to Gibson as to Squier is to Fender. Nuh uh. But I have played some squiers that don't sound too bad, sometimes you just get lucky.

    Oh well, I started out on a washburn House of Blues model. I remember when I took it into get its strings replaced (back when I was a noob) the guy working hadn't even heard of it before hahaha.

    One possibility is because Edge has admitted that he forgets how to play the songs, once mentioning that he had to buy some of the albums to re-learn the songs.

    also, the barre chords probably made the 12-string Rick sound fuller but when played on a Les Paul, it's a thicker tone so open chords are fine.

    that said, he does tend to experiment with chord voicings, changing things from tour to tour... again that probably goes back to his 'relearning the song' and perhaps figuring the chord out but not the voicing that he used previously

    There are plenty of SHIT Fenders. There are some SHIT Epiphones.

    Epi SG's are abysmal. Most Epi LP's need the tuners swapped out and the pickups. That said, the `56 LP reissues with P-90 p'ups are lovely. Slash LP is lovely. Epi Explorers are fantastic. Epi Casino's are quite nice (and on my short-list of guitars to buy).

    Most Fenders that are under 599.99 - it's like the previously mentioned PayLess comment. Most under 600 are shite. Some of them can be saved with some upgrades and some not.

    Re-learn? They've not played UV since closing of the ZOO tours.

    Although they SHOULD re-learn it; be great to hear it again.

    Yea I agree with you man. My standard mexican strat was pretty crappy until I put some 70's pickups in. Now I really love it. But I still ended up getting a better one, the 70's RI strat. And Casino's are very nice, can't argue there.
