Metronome. Metronome. Metronome. That, anything that is sequenced (as the time won't shift) and/or a drummer that has solid time.
All the above will help your time. Playing with sequencers improved Larry's time - tons! And it has been very helpful to me too.

. I taught myself to play piano again, and that really helped me learn the guitar from a theory basis, and I taught myself guitar too
