There are plenty of SHIT Fenders. There are some SHIT Epiphones.
Epi SG's are abysmal. Most Epi LP's need the tuners swapped out and the pickups. That said, the `56 LP reissues with P-90 p'ups are lovely. Slash LP is lovely. Epi Explorers are fantastic. Epi Casino's are quite nice (and on my short-list of guitars to buy).
Most Fenders that are under 599.99 - it's like the previously mentioned PayLess comment. Most under 600 are shite. Some of them can be saved with some upgrades and some not.
I have a friend with a 61 reissue Epi SG that sounds good. Course hes one of those guys who are always doing little things to make there setup sound better.
I can play everything on my recordings.
(bastard) In 9th grade, I saved up enough money to buy a drumset and taught myself how to play drums. I played in several bands and eventually picked up guitar too. I don't play all that much anymore, but I still am competent with drums and guitar and bass. I can fake my way through the piano too.
