It will likely be ten years from now (or twenty years).
Seriously though, I read they got the master tapes in 2005 and had it ready to go last year - but that was likely delayed by POPmart, Milan and ZooTV. So next year, I hope will be the year of the Lovetown or Red Rocks - but maybe Lovetown New Year's Eve as it is almost 20 years ago (1988-1989) and Red Rocks 1983-2008 (25 years). But in between now and the next album/tour will definitely be something to fill the gap and that won't be POPmart, I really feel it will be something else.
It has to be a certain amount of time or a special time e.g. ten, twenty years or in between, end of a tour before an official release is even considered or just something to fill some time in e.g. Chicago. But it must be easy to put on DVD, because of 18 Videos released last year. They had Sunday Bloody Sunday but it didn't look too good - but hey, who cares...if Red Rocks gets on DVD then I'm all for it. It's unlikely to be a full version as well if they're following in tradition of the last few DVDs - examples are Chicago and Milan. But you won't hear about it for a while because POPmart is taking the news space for the moment.
Milan = end of tour (almost)
Chicago = nothing special about the date
ZooTV = 13 years ago
POPmart = 10 years ago
And...
Red Rocks = 25 years ago
Lovetown = 15 years ago
Did I miss any?
We wait in hope though. Come on U2, release it!!!
