I'm not a big fan of Little by Little... to me it's mediocre song (but I'm not fan of post Giants albums)

  2. I never realised at the time it hadn't been played in so long, thought it was great too though, Noel was definitely the best support act I've ever seen.
  3. We might be confusing "best" with "personal favourite". Just saying...
  4. Of course our opinions are equal as facts to ourselves No problem there.

I meant that Noel is being ranked as the "best" support act because many of us are Oasis and Noel fans, but looking at it from an objective point of view I think it's fair to say U2 have had several "better" (performance-quality wise) support bands throughout the years. Of course, hearing a bunch of Oasis songs will always be a highlight for thousands, and it's impossible to get rid of that bias

I've seen idlewild, the hours and glasvegas support u2, no support on i&e and i arrived too late for support in Brussels 360 and vertigo tour glasgow, dont even know who the support acts were that night. Can't recall seeing many other bands support mainly because i didn't like them so Noel easily comes 1st for me in all aspects. I'm sure others have seen a much better list of support acts than me though.
edit: looking at the show pages there wasnt any support acts for the 360 brussels and vertigo glasgow, turns out i didnt miss anything after all.

    That kind of explains it

That is not correct. Interpol and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (2 very good bands) supported them in Glasgow 2005, and Snow Patrol (great great band!) in Brussels 2005.
Edit. I thought you were to Brussels Vertigo. Support for Brussels 360 was Interpol too!
  7. It's interpretive what their best support act is. I'd say Noel is nowhere near it considering U2 have had Rage Against the Machine, Pixies, Garbage, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, etc. It's probably one of their biggest support act but no means their best. But that's individual opinion.

I would probably have preferred Noel to Interpol and BRMC too although i agree they're both good bands. If i had seen snow patrol they might have gave Noel a bit of competition.

funny, like opinions differ... Interpol and Snow Patrol are not really bad, but I was kinda bored... I'm sure that even if I enjoyed Kasabian in Frankfurt 2010 a lot, some people didn't get it/like it... (bad sound didn't help also)
I think I would enjoy BRMC...

Exactly what I was going to. And don't forget Pearl Jam, Green Day, MUSE, the Ramones... The list goes on. Noel might be one of our favorite, and one of the biggest ones, but nowhere near the "best" as a whole, objectively.
