1. I have been traveling through South America for about 5 weeks now, and as I sit in cybercafés, I find myself constantly checking up on this site. It gives me comfort, especially as I long for the memories of home (like my own bed!).

So, one thing that keeps me connected to my world is my collection of "mixtapes" that I compile every so often. I learned how to DJ in Buenos Aires, where I am returning tonight after a 13 year hiatus. For you all, that have re-sparked my love for U2 over the past year or so, I have a gift to share: my most recent mix, "Travelogue: You Remind Me of Home".

You don't need to worry about rapidshare or megaupload or... I have webserver space for my teaching job, so I posted the mix (separated into individual tracks) ready to download.

Right now, I don't have the tracks (by various artists) labeled, but it does indeed included TWO of my favorite U2 tracks (from a list of about a hundred). Other artists making the cut include classics like The Doors, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads and Jesus & Mary Chain, and newer ones like Death Cab For Cutie, Stars, Café Tacuba and Kaolin. I don't stick to one genre but try to blend tracks seamlessly--Forgive me if the transitions don't work.

There are some other "older" mixes available too. If you can, please give it a spin and let me know your thoughts. As a community I can truly say that I value your opinion!

    ¡Que lo disfruten!

    Eduardo (a.k.a. DJ Ed Lomax)
  2. Great story--thanks for sharing it, and the mix! I will definitely give it a listen.

I'm eager to hear which two U2 tracks you chose. I remember listening constantly to the B-sides of the Best of 1980-1990 when I was traveling two years ago. It definitely made me feel much more at home.

    Best of luck with DJ-ing!
  3. Nice post Eduardo!!!!
thanks for the mix!! I'll give it a try!!
and if you're in BsAs.... and need something, don't hesitate and let me know!!!
    cheers mate!!
    Saludos!!!
  4. Hey Eduardo...

I'll check this out when I get home from the hospital next week. Currently, I'm on the slowest connection of all time.

    Enjoy the travels!

  5. That seems to be a fucking lot of official material, but, hey, you rock very hard! I like mostof your tracks and I think many of them are just remastered an&/or mixed so I won't close this one... Let's get Remy on the way

Yeah, I forgot about house rules. Hopefully Remy and others will see the mixtape as a chance to discover some new music. But, as a DJ, I try to reinvent the wheel and give people a new way of listening to familiar tracks. Unfortunately there is little of that on this one. Sometimes I find genious and create a great mash-up, like Beastie Boys "Shake Your Rump" and Black Eyed Peas "Weekends (instrumental)".

And thank you very much for your compliment! It's always appreciated... I'll put up the tracklisting in a few days if the topic doesn't get closed. I forgot a couple of the tracks on the second half, since I discovered them myself days before completing the mix.
