Only for some. Most of them I'd just do me + piano or some form of guitar, if it's in the right key, e.g. First Time, RTSS, SBS.

Perhaps on piano, and maybe sing if I can hit the notes...

I'm always amazed when Edge plays what he does and sings "And if the night runs over...."

What I would do if I found a way to mike up to the PC or something would be to play into the computer along with the backing track. One of the problems I have is that if I try to record just guitar (but listen to backing track), it doesn't come out right, i.e. out of sync.

Yeah same. I can't do the falsetto to save my life lol. I just sing normally for that bit. My voice is weird, I could have two songs in the same yet not sing one whereas with the other, I'd be fine

EDIT - e.g. that version of Stay I recorded eons ago was in E, yet I had trouble singing that (in my opinion), whereas if I play WOWY on the piano in E and sing, I'm fine. Ok, I can't really change octaves lol, but I can cope!
