I tortured my ears again to see what you mean. I can't find any Achtung Baby or major Pop influences, but what I hear is a lot of "Fast Cars" mixed with "Whole lotta love", "I'm gonna DJ" and Bono's style of singing "Rocking in the free world"... the riff sounds a lot like HMTMKMKM.



That one is my favourite, too. The others don't sound very promising to me. Usual 200x-U2. If you liked ATYCLB and the bomb, you'll like these, too. If not, well....
My major concern is that on all tracks Bono seems to use his head voice a lot, something I already disliked on the bomb.
BUT: Sounds like there's just guitar, bass, drums. No piano, bells, strings,... I hope they keep that.

Oh... and IF these are the final versions of album tracks, that is...

Thanks for the clips in the first place, you did a good job. I first thought why the recording couldn't be better, but I heard there was security swarming around the place.

Did they play 4 songs or was there more? And how do you feel about the clips, because you heard them more clear of course?

My apoligies for the bad quality. I wasn't planning on posting them at first, but then I thought, what the heck, the other clips also sounded bad and the whole U2 community loved them. Hope you all like what you hear

They played these 4 songs and Sexy Boots (the 3rd one) was played twice, but I wasn't able to record it the first time.

My opnion on the clips... Well, I must admit when I heard them at the beach, it sounded a bit dull to me. But I was so busy trying to record and not to be caught, that I didn't really had a good chance to listen. My very first impression was that it at least sounded very decent, solid. Well thought through. The mix was just as I'm used to whenever U2 mixes songs: nothing crazy, nothing daring, but solid and professional.
