I'm LarryMullenFan, in real life better known as Ben. I'm a long time U2 fan. What can I say. 32 years of age, living in Holland (which explains the Dutch chat in the clips)
I play the drums and sequencers in a U2 tribute band called "The Dutch U2 Show" (www.thedutchu2show.nl).
I was at the Eze beach on July 25th and got lucky enough to hear some new songs from Bono's stereo. I recorded them, posted them on Interference and since yesterday, the clips are "all over the goddamn place", just to quote a policeman in a well known videoclip
Cheers!

I really didn't feel comfortable about it at the time. In clip 2, 40 seconds, I even mention Catwoman. There was some very athletic woman with a hard face and short blond hair. She looked like she could jump down on the beach at any given time, just to kill me
A minute later, you can hear my girlfriend say "Hij denkt dat we aan het opnemen zijn... no no no" (he thinks we're recording (and to the security she says no no no, haha).
My opnion on the clips... Well, I must admit when I heard them at the beach, it sounded a bit dull to me. But I was so busy trying to record and not to be caught, that I didn't really had a good chance to listen. My very first impression was that it at least sounded very decent, solid. Well thought through. The mix was just as I'm used to whenever U2 mixes songs: nothing crazy, nothing daring, but solid and professional.
Now, the reason I posted the songs is that when I listened some more, the grew on me very quickly. And now I already love emEspecially 2 and 4 as they sound most promissing to me.
