Its a concert. . . . Its gonna happen. Cant expect them to sit in silence

Sydney and Popmart both struggled with pixelation on their DVD upgrades. When watching them on a large screen they do distort slightly. I'll have to try them on the PS3 (it upscales them) to see how they do. Rattle and Hum must have been filmed on some seriously good film. Over 20 years old and looking freat on Blu-Ray. Can;t wait to see it

I don´t agree both DVDs struggled from their DVD upgrade. Both are much better than the VHS-Versions and theiy did a great job with the transfer. The source is as it is. So you can´t prevent some pixelation.

Rattle and Hum is released as HD-DVD and is crap! If they will release it as BlueRay they had do the whole transforming from master again to get a good thing. Will they???

  3. But it happens more in the Latin concerts...

I didnt say they were no good. From vhs to dvd its brilliant but the pixelation is there. Popmart has a bit too much contrast and colour but they are both very good overall.
  5. No. It's an objective fact, Latin (Spanish/Italian/Argentinian/Mexican/etc) audiences use to be much more active (singing, shouting, dancing, clapping, etc) than the ones from England, USA, Australia, etc...

It depends on the recording. If 100 people out of a crowd of 50,000 in America are noisy and there is a mic pick up near them its gonna sound like a noisy gig regardless of what the rest of the crowd are up to. South American audiences are great though

Exactly, its an objective fact (we need more of them around here).
Also the audiences in these shows, may not all speak English, so they tend to cheer at everything.
The best U2 shows are usually with an English speaking audience, as well as shows in Western Europe, ie Milan, Stockholm, Paris etc.

I disagree massively with your last point. Opinion is not objective fact. Western shows just feel like shows. Scripted and routine. Gigs in far off and less often played countries usually bring out the better side of the band.

I think you got confused with what I was claiming was fact, ie Latin shows are noisier.

Anyway to your other point, U2 relates better to Western audiences, case in point; why does aussiemofo want to see a show in Ireland, failing that either USA or Europe?

I don't think Sydney 1993, Slane, Point Depot, or Milan are 'routine' performances.

Also remember how all the Japanese got pissed off because they didn't understand ZooTV, and took the 'Bomb Japan again' message seriously...

You just went and picked standout performances that have been officially released. What about all of the other gigs that haven't been released? Aussiemofo is his own person and if he wants to see the band here then thats his decision and I hope he fulfills his wishes. I myself do not want to see the band in Ireland, i'd love to go elsewhere for a gig but that means absoutely nothing.

Out of interest, how many South American U2 gigs have you attended?
