  2. cheers dude
  3. That's one crowded stage
  4. Exactly the opposite to the 360 tour, an almost awfully empty stage. . . .

  5. Orchestra takes most of the space i think.

U2 doesnt really need the room. Same machinery as on the previous tour. Elevation was cramped, Vertigo was loosly, 360's stage is fairly empty. Would love if Bono would actually play the guitar, the piano or the organ. Or if Terry was just on stage.

Maybe even less, because the band is more mobile. Also THE CLAW makes everything else look small

Although if the PA was on stage....

  6. several violinists, a big harp, big piano, At least 4 guitarists (and all their guitars), bassist, horns and trumpets. There was over a dozen people coming and going during certain songs. Odd setup.
  7. Impressive and they got balls to change the songs like they did.

Something U2 never will do. (Although they rehearsed an acoustic The Fly, released weird Vertigo performances and a few One performances that were rearranged)

Like the 'rock' arrangement better though, although would be great if some things are swapped / integrated from both versions.
  8. massive respect to Snow Patrol for giving it a rattle. This is how these songs had have sounded without the pressure from the labels. Are U2 too big to do similar? No chance. U2 could do this in arenas comfortable. Smaller venues would be insane but arenas would do. I'm not sure they are talented enough to do it though
  9. Talented, sure! No offence to SP, but technically (although that comes more from experience) U2 are much better.

U2 are a bit stiff though, seem to be scared to pull something off new. Too much to lose. Look at the setlists. Even the speeches are timed to the second.

Improvisations are not U2's strong suit. But they can definitely shake some things up every once in a while. Maybe they are doing it now. Releasing War with Jay-Z on Sunday Bloody Sunday

Easiest for U2 will be to just rehearse 30-40 songs for the tour. So many hits they can bring in.

Anyway, thumbs up for Snow Patrol! Hope U2 follows.
  10. i'd kill for a U2 equivalent. About the only thing that would relight my U2 fire. . .so to speak
