1. 7 Years Ago Today, U2 played at Slane. Bigger speech from me in the works.
  2. 7 years is a random landmark.

  3. true, but I figure it's my last year before college and I'll be too caught up in 2011, plus what's wrong with 7?

Just isnt a significant landmark for a decent show. Streets intro aside I think Slane 1 was more of a spectacle. If Slane hadnt been released on dvd which show would we be celebrating?

    It's not 10, 20 or 25. It's just 7.
  6. My thought is, why wait for something to happen? Sure, we could wait until 2011 or 2016, but why wait? I always ask myself, is something worth being mentioned now or later? For every time I've gone with later, I've regretted it. They day to try and lead a life without regrets, and I try. Stuff happens. All I know is that deep down, Slane does deserve some sort of mention.

    What ^ he said!

The bla bla "our crew in Dublin" part always makes me laugh.
  8. can't belive it was so much time ago (when you're 14 it is much time for you ). Seems like it was just yesterday everytime I watch the DVD
  9. I used to do Celebration Topics where an important landmark was reached, eg 10, 15, 20 or 25 years... But Slane is very important for many people; lots of fans first heard/saw U2 live thanks to the Slane DVD...

Anyway, Fucking true, dude In fact, indeed the DVD is what makes the concert sooooo great

If it wasn't for Slane, I'd become a fan of U2 much later or maybe even not. If it wasn't for Slane, U2start maybe wouldn't even be there the way it is, so yes, it's important

It is a great dvd no doubt but its not tht much better than any other Elevation gig and definitely not better than Slane 1. But because slane 2 been immortalised on DVD we all tend to bow at it evdn though its a standard gig. The crowd rock though.

    True, true, and true.
