1. My cross country team at school is trying to put together an anthology of everyone's favorite "pump up" songs for working out, presumably to played at practices or meets.

Naturally, U2 quickly came to mind. It must be one studio track, no time for live releases or boots. I was thinking maybe Pride, Sunday Bloody Sunday or New Year's Day. I've always enjoyed working out to U2's fiery and energetic early work.

What are your guys' thoughts? I am sure you've thought about this at some point. Feel free to post non-U2 songs too.

Thanks! ......(I find the smileys amusing)
  2. Fast Cars
  3. I would definitively use:
    DISCOTHEQUE
    MOFO
the Lemon "perfecto remix" from POPMART

  4. I have a "Pumped" playlist and track number one is Zoo Station!

Further down is Hold Me, Thrill Me....
  5. Elevation?
  6. Grace!!!!

    (kidding of course)

I agree with Johnny. Mofo is good, I like Even Better Than The Real Thing too.

ps - am I the only one wondering how you'll hear the music when you're practicing for cross-country? When I ran cross-country, we'd run for miles around the school, but never in one place (where we could hear music blasting...)

EBTTRT live from Mexico......def the best pump it up sort of version

its probably around a track....and should be played at FULL BLAST
  8. We'd play at school when we ran around the track, and at meets when we stretched together.

I'm liking the responses, thanks so much!

Like Gerard mentioned, Fast Cars is a great one....
  10. Vertigo, Beautiful Day all the U2stuff the play at the soccer matches. Sunday Bloody Sunday works well, though is really a protest song. Mofo works well except for the 'girly' singing at the end. Perhaps a bit too weird.
Discotheque I like as well, Staring at the Sun? All Because Of You?

Isn't fast cars the weird sounding Morrocan flavoured song, with Bono almos rapping?
I don't have it on my HTDAAB cd.
  11. When I run, I listen to Desire (to start my run) or Elevation.

Australian editions of HTDAAB didn't have Fast Cars...
