The initial re-mastering of the Boy, October & War are great! The original ablum tracks that is. This is my opinion about the bonus disc for War!
The bonus disc for War, it’s a real disappointment! Who really wants to listen to 4 versions of New Year’s Day, only one, the single edit being remotely awesome to listen to. I don’t know about the rest of you guys but sometimes I just hate to hear and even see when some DJ or producer/mixer remixes a great U2 song and just butcher it with cheap effects. They could of thrown in the US version single with a cool intro and bass lines extended with different and meaningful lyrics or even the official extended version which is about a minute longer) but no we get cheap remixes. They even made the mistake twice to throw in three versions of Two Hearts Beat As One, again one of my many favorite U2 songs! The Kevorkian club versions & Steve Lillywhite re-mix are not good, again MY opinion. I really don’t want to upset this U2 community but I am going out there on a limb and stating my disappointment.
The other tracks are good, I enjoy the original stuff and the live ones as well.
I am curious about what you think about the tracks?
somebody should have skipped on the Deluxe. Disappointing though it was, it's pretty much all they had to fill a second disc. No point in releasing 2 deluxes then only the single edition of War. It was a no win situation for the band. Release a shit bonus disc and get slated or release no bonus disc and get slated.
Best continued in the remastered topic though. . .
