    Play a smaller setlist, smaller crowd, more gigs in total and they make the same ammount of money. Makes the tour immediately way longer and probably way better.

  4. so Mark thinks that MSG was a small venue for U2 during Elevation Tour, where they played very intimate and emotional gigs, but it's too big for Coldplay?

    This also means 3 night stands in cities. Smaller sets means shorter shows, so the shows have to cost less. Also variation of sets wouldnt be any good.

    well in some it's the melody and in some the lyrics that make them sad actually

    Yep, I certainly think so. CP's music is way more intimate than U2's...
    And it's not just the venue, it also has to do with atmosphere, setlists, special effects etc.
