    Can't think who else? Random local groups who I can't remember and no one will have heard of...erm...

    Seeing Alter Bridge play the UEA in November, REALLY looking forward to that...

    Add to that list - Alter Bridge and Logan (and Hot Leg, too, I suppose);

    I'm still coming down from one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Alter Bridge were absolutely stunning - I was saying to a mate on the bus back that the only thing that would probably ever better last night would be seeing U2 live. That's how good they were. They were supported by a great grunge band from Scotland called Logan who I really want to know more about (apparently they're quite well known in the US because of their connections with Mark Tremonti and got a lot of airtime due to having demo material put around on a lot of metal/grunge forums etc.). The most random part of the night though had to be the appearance of Justin Hawkins' (ex-lead singer of The Darkness) new band Hot Leg. He got a fair bit of stick, it must be said, because of his past I'm guessing (and the fact that he's fairly local to the area)...funniest moment though had to be when Myles Kennedy introduced Scott Phillips (the drummer) who ripped into the intro. of Metalingus, and then proceeded to disappear because his microphone had stopped working, so we were treated to an impromptu instrumental rendition of the song and the whole crowd started singing the lyrics until MK reappeared and started it again.

    Damn awesome night!

    Duffy was the first opening act I've seen, and I really like the idea behind it. It gives me a chance to check sound levels with my cam.

    Coldplay weren't as loud as the Who, but Coldplay were better. Blew my mind

    Now we'll have to submit another side of the word... "Opening act serves to warm up the audience and allowing them to check sound leves on their cams, something which is really useful when they want to record some of Headline's performance"...
