1. I've got an essay to write regarding the original and remake of The Amityville Horror. I saw the original years ago, but can't remember it. Anyway, it got me to thinking - what are the best/worst remakes you've ever seen? I watch a lot of movies, so cutting it down to two will be difficult, but I'll have a go...

BEST - I'll go with The Bourne Identity (I'll think of something else as soon as I post this...)
WORST - Has to be Psycho. Utterly, utterly pointless.
  2. I can't think of too many good ones if any, but the worst has to go to The Italian Job.

Actually, a good, not great one was Alfie.
  3. I kinda liked the remake of Ocean's Eleven. Can't beat the Ratpack but is still pretty good imho.

From the deepest depths of my heart I really hate Pink Panther with Steve Martin. The original is classic, the remake a nightmare.

Funny, because if I was going with those two, I'd put them the other way round...

Oh yes. One of the worst.
  6. I kinda enjoyed the Willy Wonka remake. Very quirky
  7. Best: The current Batman series

Worst: I'd have to say Willie Wonka (Gerard just reminded me)
  8. Was Bourne Identity a remake

PS Changed the forum to appropriate one
  9. Continuing the Steve Martin theme,he made a complete cat's arse of Sgt.Bilko.I know it wasn't a remake but Christ Almighty...........

    Worst

Get Carter......Original with Michael Caine /// Remake with Sly Stallone

    Best

Oceans Eleven.....Original with The Rat Pack /// Remake with George Clooney etc

  10. I thought I'd got that wrong, so cheers, matey.

Yeah, The Bourne Identity was made for TV in the late 80's/early 90's and Richard Chamberlain (ask your parents) was Jason Bourne. He may have been closer in age to the novel's Bourne, but I'll just say he's no Matt Daaaammmooooonnnn...

  11. I agree. I orginally thought that a remake would be blasphemous, but now I think I prefer the new. It embraced the creepy, and the songs in the orginal suck.
