    +1
  2. Gavin's always been sort of in charge of little production things, he helped coordinate the "Why So Serious?" intro Hold Me, Thrill Me, and "Soon" preshow as opposed to Space Oddity early on in the tour. In the Squaring the Circle he explains what he does I can't recall now, he just sort of throws in interesting ideas setlist or otherwise.
  3. i think if they dont release it nowadays, with cheap 3d Televisions and everything else, they wont do. in fact, i miss an U2 video release. they should come with u23D and put some unreleased tracks. maybe kite? (since i think they recorded on melbourne) but no. this show, the only thing that make new 3D worth. and i believe the is best 3D out there. noone gives u23d its real value, but it was maybe one of the first 3d movies shot with full 3d equipment, not just crappy 2d conversion, like star wars(gave me nausea)
  4. I could care less about 3D. I like the music. The music is what made me a U2 fan. I would rather watch and/or listen to U2 in No D than crap music in 3D. It would be nice if there was a standard 2D DVD with two discs. One disc would be the final theatre presentation, and the other would be 20 or so outtakes and the project screams documentary. And of course, when 3D TVs improve, make a true 3D release. I thought the novelty of it was kinda cool, but it hardly changed my life. I loved it for the fact it was U2 in an IMAX theatre.
  5. It will probably be released in like ten years when the technology makes it worthwhile to watch at home... I can wait
  6. I totally forgot about this amazing intro of One !
In fact, I don't remember hearing those ooh's before any version of One...?
(The "turn (off) the lights" chanting is dull though)

  7. or after the band is no longer together or alive LOL as a nostalgia release a la 'Ladies and Gentlemen, the Rolling Stones!" being released on Blu-ray in 2010.

Thanks for this bit, didn't know that about him. I'm curious as to why particularly he yells "Everyone" and it ascends the way it does, because I LOVE the power it has in those shows...but I suppose that's something maybe only he knows

Thanks again for the history lesson Gen, fascinating.

LOL yeah I don't know why either, he's more behind the scenes and I remember in Willie William's diary on 360 he was a huge advocate for the acoustic songs in and Mercy being played. Who knows what else he's responsible for (good and bad) ahaha

    [YouTube Video]

This is in my top 10 favourite U2 moments.

The professional audio from this release is a grail for me.
It does exist. There are pictures of the disc that was sent out to cinemas, online.
  11. Since we're having problems with the "off-topic" concept, I'm bumping this thread so that you can continue talking about U23D and/or the Vertigo shows in Latin America.
