1. I've got literally hundreds of links from the old bruce btx mp3 index and it's just a case of finding whether any still work. The mega ones are obviously non-starters so you can shoot past the masses of them. The mediafire ones are about 0.1% working, found a couple of very old ones once. The rapidshare ones and there's surprisingly not that many work out around 50/50 so far. I'll have a bash at the river/born in the usa tour links sometime.
  2. that was a very good source but i always felt a little bit disoriented over those topics on btx hehe
  3. I've said before i think i have the btx mp3 request thread bookmarked so i can go straight to it and i have nothing to do with the rest of the site, never read it. I used to but i despair of their 'bruce should do what we want' attitude and the 'i'm a bigger fan than you' arguments which are usually accompanied by 'i saw him in 1973/4/5/6/7/8 even though i'm only 22 !!!!!!! and the 'it's not as good as 1978' (i think you'll find we've surpassed 78 and then some). The last time i read the main forum was a few months prior to the darkness box. Someone kept posting who claimed to be involved in it's production etc - the video's mentioned tended to be madison square garden, phoenix, passaic etc - the one that actually got used, houston, was never mentioned. Clearly he was well at home on btx. All the way through this year i've laughed everytime bruce has shouted 'jake or jakey' during a gig because you just know that they had an assortment of knives sharpened for whoever took clarence's place and then bruce goes and brings in jake.

  4. It's true though. To have seen him in 1972 you have to be at least 56 years old today. All the places he played would have been age restricted due to having alcohol licenses/bars. No one under 18 would have got into max's at the beginning of 1973. I first saw him in 1985 would have been 1981 if he'd chosed to do leeds on the river tour but you can't have everything. Btx seems to be very much of the 'it's a competition' mentality. I can remember the date and time I first saw him on tv, october 18th 1980 the river video was played in the five minutes before bbc 2 showed the police live from germany. It doesn't make me a bigger fan than x,y or z who might only have heard him five minutes ago it just means i'm older and i've got a good memory.

how old are you Ade? if i can ask
  8. 46 - i would have been 15 if he'd played leeds in 1981 - still was 15 when i saw u2 in october in the venue in the shopping centre with the potted palm trees. Though i had seen the police long before that.

As for that philly gig, he tries to 'stump the band' when he comes on 'they didn't know i was going to play this...'
  9. so you're a bit older and with a better memory than me hehe
