It doesn't make me a bigger fan than x,y or z who might only have heard him five minutes ago it just means i'm older and i've got a good memory.

  3. 46 - i would have been 15 if he'd played leeds in 1981 - still was 15 when i saw u2 in october in the venue in the shopping centre with the potted palm trees. Though i had seen the police long before that.

    As for that philly gig, he tries to 'stump the band' when he comes on 'they didn't know i was going to play this...'

    I'll admit that it's not my favourite Springsteen album, by a distance, but it did lay the foundations for everything that came after. I do love the abum cover though. Spirit in the Night is my favourite track from this album. I'm listening to it (the album) now, just ticked over to the final track. Happy 40th anniversary Greetings From Asbury Park, N.J.
