    Now, seriously... If you were at a show and Bruce chooses to play a full album or play some songs you are not passionate about, would you really cross your arms and tap your feet in disgust, or just relax and enjoy it all? (not directed only to you, just to the general internet-geek fans of Bruce, U2, etc).

    I know my answer.
  4. i would be seriously fucked off (and this is not a joke) at paying around £150 for tickets and getting born in the usa complete, slightly less so for darkness, and a little less for born to run. Anything else turns up complete and i'm jumping for joy. My point is songs from those albums make up the majority of set lists anyway and even the ones that don't turn up that frequently (i'm going down or streets of fire for example) do turn up occasionally whereas say your chances of kitty's back are becoming remote and your chances of fade away are virtually nil. Secondly i think he's sending the wrong message out by relying on those albums alone. He's effectively saying these are my three best or most popular albums which personally i don't believe they are. Thirdly he's saying thanks to the fans for following us all these years/sticking with us etc and yet the hardcore/die hard call them what you will clearly don't want full album shows. Fourth, if he had advertised the shows as full albums people who are now travelling around after him but ending up often seeing the same show would have been able to make the choice of whether to go or not. Personally if he'd said at leeds i'm going to do a full album of btr,doteot, bitusa i would have chosen not to go.

    I would have no problem with u2 doing full albums as there are a significant number of songs on each either staggeringly underplayed or not played at all as you know. And if only to prove my hypocrisy further were i to choose a police set list it would have a full album, And if Bowie chooses to do full albums next year you will hear the screams of delight across there from here but that may also be because i know i'm in. And on that bombshell, the end.

You definitely have a point on the fans travelling all around the continent/world and sometimes witnessing a 90% similar show in two different cities, but that happens with most bands anyway (U2 included), the rare bands are those who change setlists every night. Nevertheless, which portion of the general audience sees more than 1 or 2 shows a tour? Maybe a core of 100, 200 fans? 200 fans is just a 0'5% of the average people in attendance. You can't decide what to perform thinking of a 0'5% of your target audience.

    I'm not a Bruce hardcore fan, but I'm a hardcore U2 fan, and if I decided to see them 5 times in a month, I know I would be internally pissed at seeing 5 times the same show, but I would accept that a 99'5% of the audience was more than happy with the awesome show they just witnessed, so I wouldn't be as pissed. Oh, and U2 performing full albums would be awesome, but I doubt that ever happens.

    (PS. Just for the record, I wouldn't attend 10 or more gigs of the same tour by anyone).
  6. i just did 2 full album shows back to back and as it was noticeable i really enjoyed them .. i admit i would have loved to attend Wembley too for a sense of completeness hehe
    after many shows lets say unpredictable the full album, in such a way, it was a new wind and it's good for mev ... and before you don't know if he does it or which one .. you can have a guess but not sureness
    besides they're around 10 songs on a 30 set .. and they're not that bad uh ... different case if he does Human Touch hehe
    i see very well Ade's point anyway .. and i read/listened to by other Boss fans too.
    the speech about the 99% fans can also be right but there's different ways to "behave" ... you can also think to the hardcore fans as well .. Bruce is an example .. PJ (it's quite lot of time i don't speak about them hehe) are another one .. U2 are far way less.. unluckily.
    about songs not passionated about (do you mean like less or don't like at all? ) .. uhm Vertigo tour put my "inifnite" patience to hard test hehehe

  7. I guess when you at the concert a whole album is not such a problem, 10 out 30 songs.

    But if I have to chose for a concert U2 or Springsteen I prefer the complete new album played live. Like U2 (almost) did at the begin of their tours. And then add public requests + live classics.
  8. I was worried in case he played Born in the USA in full purely because it's not one of my favourite Bruce albums and it takes up 12 songs. If it were Born to Run, I'd be delighted. Darkness would be in the middle.

    Imagine getting The River: 21 songs, pretty much taking up the majority of the set.
