1. i'm not clearly a teenager since long hehehe and probably i'm so far away from the way of thinking of the nowadays ones so i don't know.
if that had happened when i was i would have been more than happy for the extra songs for sure
the pre-show doesn't spoiler what comes next however
  2. ok let's try it

Bono and edge stroll on stage and knock out stories for boys, gloria and two hearts beat as one. Any thoughts?
  3. i can't speak i would definetely not be at a U2-baptism hehehe

i guess my thought is obvious and clear though

That's what I was meaning. If they had done it at my first show, on my 15th birthday, I think I would have been somewhere between thrilled and pissed... Thrilled to see a part of the band and pissed to see only a part of the band.

You chose 2 of my least favorite songs by the way, if I were to choose 3 rarities not-too-amazing, I'd choose Stories For Boys, A Sort Of Homecoming and The First Time, for example.

I guess it's different with Bruce since he's the absolute head and obviously most important member of his band, though.

i would give up the main show for a pre-set like that! .. oh well the Homecoming would be enough
  6. Starting a concert like Springsteen sometimes does is not a way for U2 opening a concert, I think.

The way for U2 is increasing up the "voltage" in the stadium with the music on the speakers, the intro and then a big BANG.
  7. but what Bruce does is not another way to start a concert .. it's just an extemporized extra

  8. Personally I do not like so much the solo opening of a concert.
  9. that's another issue

example Padova .. you don't like the start with Tom Joad solo acoustic it's ok .. i loved it
but what about the pre-set (regardless of the songs played) that happened 2hours and half - 3hours before the concert started?
  10. ^ that is what I (think) I (would) dislike. Opening a concert solo is another matter and depending on the song and the concert circumstances it can be amazing.
  11. here we go again, cork

    Pre-Show:
    1. I'll Work for your Love
    2. Girls in their Summer Clothes
    3. Real World (piano)

here's how the rest of the gig will pan out

first 7-10 songs you'd probably kill for
11+ darkness or bitusa = time to kill yourself
    usual ending of main set

usual encores probably including one oddity

    game over
  12. And a great time for the people in the stadium, which is what probably matters to Bruce and his guys
