Lol you Americans complaining about not getting shows, you are pathetic. You've only had the Reunion Tour, The Rising Tour, VFC, Devils and Dust, The Seeger Sessions Tour, Magic, Working on a Dream and the Wrecking Ball Tour since 1999.
What's Australia, South America and South Africa had? Oh that's right. We here in Australia got the Rising and Wrecking Ball. South America got a couple of shows in 88 and four on the Wrecking Ball Tour. South Africa hasn't even had Bruce.
Bruce played
62 shows in the US in 2012
72 in 2009
46 in 2008
31 in 2007
41 in 2006
54 in 2005
15 in 2004
49 in 2003
57 in 2002
45 in 2000
61 in 1999
Total from 1999-2012?
Only 533 shows (average of 41 shows per year).
Australia from 1985-2013?
32 (average of 1.14 shows per year).
South America from 1988-2013?
7 (average of 0.28 shows per year).
South Africa from 1973-2013?
0 (average of 0 shows per year).
Sure Europe's had and gets its fair share of shows, but I guess there's a (fairly obvious) reason for that
You could probably thank yourself and the other idiots like you for Bruce not wanting to go back to you. I don't blame him.
Easy for you to say, mate. You're getting another leg. And heeeeeeeeeeeeere we go. A pissing contest between the American & the foreigner.
25% (or probably more than that) of those American shows are in Jersey/NYC/Philly/Boston. Some don't live anywhere near.
Some of us were too young. I was 13-14 during the Reunion tour.
VFC doesn't count. And it was swing states.
The Seeger Sessions tour was primarily European.
Magic & WOAD skipped a handful of markets in the States. And so did WB.
He's an all American legend . Considering that he's the poster boy musician for our country, it's pretty ironic that we're practically a secondary market. It shouldn't be that way. I have a feeling his track record for endorsing hack politicians is hurting the sales here...
I'm not sure why you think we have it better than you over here in terms of Bruce concerts? We've seen him here once in the last ten years and we're finally getting him again. Sure we're getting another leg, that makes it three tours that have touched our shores in eleven years. America gets basically three in three.
And so what if you were 13-14 in the Reunion tour? Even more reason for you to have gotten to see him from 07 on wards, I first saw Bruce at age 10. I had no financial independence or the ability to see him before he was here again this year, but I got my parents to take me. You on the other hand, obviously could have gone to many of the shows as a grown man.
Some of the tours might have missed certain areas of America, you're right. But I can guarantee you that it is inexplicably cheaper for an American to travel to another part of the country to see Bruce on one of his 41 shows per year there, than it is for an Australian, South African or South American fan to travel halfway around the world to have to see him.
I don't understand this notion where people think Bruce has to play America every single day of the year. America has gotten many of the greatest and best shows and has had more shows that anywhere else in the world by a long shot, especially over the last fifteen years. He's given a lot back to the American market and alas, the thing that most of the whinging American Bruce Springsteen fans forget is that he owes you nothing.
bruce should do what he wants not what a very vocal predominantly u.s. based fans think he should do
Bruce does not owe any of his fans anything - he could be happily sat in his house doing fuck all at his age living off his royalties issuing greatest hits, licensing songs to adverts, tv shows etc
contrary to popular opinion of around 99% of those who post on btx - everyone is entitled to an opinion whether they believe it to be right or wrong - though that may be a product of many of them growing up under a u.s. government of 'do as we say not as we do'
ever thought that Bruce may want to play these places before he and the band get too old to travel on the long hauls? If he needs to add anywhere to next year it's japan, eastern europe.
Thank you. Glad to see I'm not alone. I for one am just happy that Bruce is still going, regardless of where he plays. It wouldn't bother me if he chose to tour places other than my country like he's done for the better part of his career. Why can't people just be happy that he can still tour and play three hour shows? I swear some people make it out like they'd rather have him retire or die instead of playing countries that aren't the US
Just as they spring to mind, no 2nd thoughts... Wrecking Ball, Roll The Dice, The River, Tunnel Of Love, Hungry Heart, Queen Of The Supermarket, Born In The USA, YCLook/Not Touch, Born To Run (hilarious haha), Two Hearts. That's all I'm afraid.
