1. Agree 100%!
What about this, a request for Drift away
  2. Class album, after 2 listens I feel partly American cowboy .
  3. Agreed!

It's of course a Chuck Berry composition.

And please, everyone, also read this wonderful lyrics at least just once:

It was a teenage wedding, and the old folks wished them well
You could see that Pierre did truly love the mademoiselle
And now the young monsieur and madame have rung the chapel bell
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

They furnished off an apartment with a two room Roebuck sale
The coolerator was crammed with TV dinners and ginger ale
But when Pierre found work, the little money comin' worked out well
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

They had a hi-fi phono, boy, did they let it blast
Seven hundred little records, all rock, rhythm and jazz
But when the sun went down, the rapid tempo of the music fell
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

They bought a souped-up jitney, 'twas a cherry red '53
They drove it down to Orleans to celebrate the anniversary
It was there that Pierre was married to the lovely mademoiselle
"C'est la vie", say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell

Pure Poetry (with the capital P)

  4. And very similar to a Springsteen song in terms of telling a big story in a short song
  5. Yeah, Berry was one of the pioneers.

I had never read the lyrics like this, always mumbled them with inventing or filling in the words I didn't know. Thanks for writing them like this It's indeed a sped-up Springsteen-like storytelling song
  7. Forget Western Stars...here's Western Stars: Music From the Film

  8. Nice to see some familiar faces (Soozie, Charlie, Lisa) in the video apart from Bruce and Patti
  9. Western stars. I’ll keep this one short, awesome. Going to see the film tonight too can’t wait.
