  1. I would like your opinion on what you believe is the most publicly popular U2 song, i.e the U2 song that the mainstream music-listener - not a hardcore fan - generally likes the most.

    As far as I can see there are only a few given candidates for this title, being:

    Sunday bloody sunday
    Pride (in the name of love)
    Where the streets have no name
    I still havn't found what I'm looking for
    With or without you
    One
    Beautiful day

    You may also estimate what other song(s) you think common people would like the most if they heard it (i.e less "famous" songs that regardlessly would be more popular if people knew about them).

  4. Ultraviolet would have made a cracking single. I'm glad it wasnt though.
  5. Yeah, I'd go with Beautiful Day, though Vertigo seems pretty popular


  6. True, but I believe it's just because it's their latest big single, and not really because people actually like the song better. While Vertigo is good, it isn't exactly one of U2's best songs, in my opinion.

    Niether is Beautiful Day. it just had lovely timing. Another U2 flip in direction when the critics and fans may have been doubting, people were excited with the new millenium and here came along a song that just blended with that mood. Memorable video to. .

    we will see then the new album comes out whether it will stay around or not, it might just be forgotten like some of the Pop Singles. Speaking of which, I reckon "Gone" would have been a popular release.

    Perhaps, but Vertigo's not nearly as popular as Beautiful day anyway, which is why I overlooked it.

    I disagree, I think that much of the public (or the people that I have talked to) actually really hated Vertigo. It was always playing on the radio and it was an instant "change the music channel" when it came on. It probably sparked the new generation's intrest in U2 though.

    In my opinion, I think that SBS is the song that most people are familar with about U2.


  11. I always thought Gone could have been one of U2's biggest songs. From the list above, I would go with One.
