1. Bono's "slip-ups" makes the songs stay alive.

speaking of that song...the "when it was all fucked up..." version is pretty damn good too
I don't care for his so called slip ups, they definitely make the songs even better...unless he forgets the whole song as in ASOH, he does a pretty good job at them.

  3. I think many fans know Bono is notorious for flubbing a line here or singing the wrong part of a verse there... it's not horrible or a big deal - it's part of the fun!

  4. I remember one off the top of my head, although he's flubbed lines lots, "A Sort Of Homecoming" (Oakland 2001). Scott Peretta was pulled on stage to play with Edge and Bono and he began playing "A Sort of Homecoming"... Bono didn't remember the lyrics and went free-form.

Sure it is a tune that wasn't in the set-list and they hadn't been rehearsing at soundchecks. Fair enough.

There is a reason Bono has a teleprompter on stage - and many bands do - that is to help keep the lyrics straight. Ofcourse, notice that when the lyrics are flubbed... it's usually when he's NOT in his center stage spot.

Again, mistakes are not horrible and it's all good fun.
  5. The 'lightbulb over my head' in UV is fine, what I don't like is when he makes changes that sound silly, nonsensical or make him seem stupid like the G-l-o-r-a thing, or in UV (DC performance I think) where he sings "your love is like a lightbulb, it gets passed around".

actually that line sounds very good to me, your love is like a lightbulb, it helps me see in the dark, shows me the way, but it's passed around...people fall in love with you in turn, and you light their way, for all of them.

I hate it when people do this, people in my English class used to do it all the time, read to much into something whether it be a book, film, or lyric that the artist never intended, and hail it as having artistic qualities when it doesn't. It is probably harder to understand to people who aren't native English speakers though.

Not everything Bono says or sings is gold, he isn't Aurum Vox.

And where did Ali suggest Bono is gold? He simply said that even though Bono fluffed it, the lyric that came out kinda nice. Some may call it genius, others blind luck. Either way a mistake is a mistake. move on.
  9. Heard a small mistake yesterday

Sunday Bloody Sunday, Buenos Aires (Vertigo Tour)
=> "Brothers, children (small pause) Brothers, sister torn apart"
So oke the first time Brothers should've been mothers oke...

    Meant exactly that...

Huh? Just because you don't get the same meaning out of something that other people do doesn't mean that they're incorrect or that other people are reading too much into it. And your comment about non-native English speakers is offensive and elitist. Indeed, move on.

Elevation live is completely different to the album version, and thank god for it lol. Even though Edge is a guitar hero of mine, I do have a few disagreements with some of the changes he makes to guitar parts, e.g. SYCMIOYO irritates me every time I hear it because (to me) his Rick. sounds so crap live compared to the album setup. However, in the grand scheme of things, it's not particularly important lol, as are Bono's lyrical additions/changes/slip-ups etc. - it's possibly one of the least concerning things I could imagine where U2 are concerned lol.
