Every Breaking Wave runs 4:13 - which is awfully short. This next part has nothing to do with that, but these are the various song lengths (supposedly):

No Line On The Horizon (4:14)
    Magnificent (5:23)
    Moment of Surrender (7:23)
    Unknown Caller (6:02)
I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (4:13)
    Get On Your Boots (3:24)
    Stand Up Comedy (3:48)
    Fez - Being Born (5:14)
    White As Snow (4:39)
    Breathe (4:58)
    Cedars of Lebanon (4:13)

What's the album length 53mins? I don't think there are any gaps, those 11 add up to 53 mins 32 secs. And it's not like they could hide it in a long track either.

And where's this Escapist track on VLV? Is it only on certain versions? Is it instrumental?

    "Hear me/Cease to speak/That I may speak/Shush now."

That's the chorus from the Beach Clip 1, which is fantastic btw, Edge and Bono singing in unison, with some great vocalizations as well. Unknown Caller will be amazing.

And I like this talk of No Line On the Horizon being like Zoo Station, the other info seems to back it up as well.
  2. So you reckon it's a gapless album? Listen to how Boots starts.

The Escapist is right after Death And All His Friends, my copy has it and that's just a store bought edition, nothing fancy or special about it and also Chinese Sleep Chant and Reign of Love.

And they are supposedly the right lengths, from my timeline.
  3. To clarify in addition to what Drew said, The Escapist is the atmospheric song after D&AHF that uses the same sounds as the beginning of LIT. The lyrics are "And in the end we lie awake and dream of making our escape." Very short "hidden track."
  4. Looks like there will be NO bonus-track now on any physical release. Just on itunes (No Line remix ?)
  5. Man a remix on the physical copy would be stupid anyway. Who puts a remix on the original new CD. I think that's kinda weird.

  6. Word was that either the alternate version of No Line or an unknown song like Tripoli/Every breaking wave might be the bonus.
    No word about a remix.

Well, even that's a little dumb I think. If they're going to put another song on the album, just call it that. Don't say there's a bonus b-side, because it's not a b-side anymore, it's on the album.

  8. no bouns track? are u sure about that

Noone called the bonus a b-side. That's the problem these days - there are so many assumptions and simple conclusions people make that it's hard to keep track.
  10. I love the lyric snippets so far on this album!

some highlights from a Sydney review taken from atu2.

Magnificent : "I was born to sing for you/I didn't have a choice" before confessing that "only love can leave such a mark".

Moment of Surrender : "I tied myself with wire to let the horses run free/playing with fire till the fire plays with me" and "it's not if I believe in love but if love believes in me".

Unknown Caller: It's 3.33am "in a place of no consequence or company" and he's "speed dialling with no signal at all". The lyrics seem more impressionistic, disconnected and with a touch of David Bowie in the chanting underneath.

I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight : "She's a rainbow and she likes the quite life/I'll go crazy if I don't go crazy tonight."

Breathe: Did Bono really just say he is "not somebody's cockatoo"? He definitely says "I'm running down the road like loose electricity while the band in my head plays a striptease"

Cedars of Lebanon : "Choose your enemies well for they will define you ... they are going to last with you longer than your friends".

I thought that was just Life In Technicolour after Death and All His Friends. Not much of a bonus track that, more like a bonus snippet. I know Chinese Sleep Chant and Reign of Love though.
