1. Bono said they've been working on a song called Tripoli, but the Will.I.Am song is called Crazy Tonight, which is a completely different thing again. We never thought we'd hear Xanax and Wine or Native Son, but we did.

Ah well, I'm off for the night. Good night all!

it's not about whether it sounds like achtung baby, but whether it's like the jump from jt to ab. that's a difference.

    Exactly what I mean't.

It's highly unlikely that they'll ever make such a big jump again, NLOTH will probably be more of a AB to Zooropa type jump, ie an evolution rather than a revolution.

  7. Good point there !
Is there any news in Q about the first single of the album and/or when it will be released ?
'Cause i can't buy Q so i don't know anything more than the excerpts on this forum (fo which i thank you all )

probably. but we never know. I have a feeling a lot of us are going to go, "what the fuck?" when we first hear some of this new material. and that, surely was the response when Achtung Baby came out. It changed the way U2 was perceived etc. I think a similar thing will happen with this record

Anything is possible, but from Unknown Caller, Breathe, Magnificent, Sexy Boots and Winter.
It's fair to say that while definitely interesting, it will not be the shock that something like Zoo Station was back then. Not even as out there as Pop.

Also Q is likely intentionally creating spin as well, you don't get an exclusive preview of a new U2 album and then write how it doesn't sound much different to HTDAAB. At least you don't if you want to get another exclusive preview again.
  10. I think No Line On the Horizon or whatever song that is 6 and 1/2 minutes might be Mercy reworked. Mercy was about the same length and very atmospheric or trancy through the verse. I'm sure if Mercy is not on the album it's been reworked into one of the new songs.
