U2's new tour will be a "feat of genius".

The Irish rockers have been secretly creating a technologically-advanced stage set for when they hit the road later this year, and have promised fans something spectacular.

Before they go on their proposed tour, U2 will debut their new single 'Get On Your Boots' - taken from their upcoming album 'No Line On The Horizon' - at this year's BRIT Awards on February 18

Frontman Bono, 48, said: "It's fair to say what we've planned for our outdoor shows has never been done before and that we've been working on it for a long time.

"It's a feat of engineering genius."

Before they go on their proposed tour, U2 will debut their new single 'Get On Your Boots' - taken from their upcoming album 'No Line On The Horizon' - at this year's BRIT Awards on February 18.

Ged Doherty, Chairman of the BRITs committee, said: "We're thrilled to confirm U2 have chosen the BRITs for their first global TV performance of their new single."

The band has not yet announced any live dates. The group's new album is to be released worldwide in March.
  2. Sorry but there was a very interesting point that got lost during the topic: some one was trying to calculate how long before the tour dates would be announced. What do u think? After the album release? Usually how much time there is between the album release and the tour dates?

  3. I know this may stir up some controversy, but...

Does anyone thing we're going to get some sort of flying-U2? At least for part of the show?

I don't like the idea myself, but it was the first thing that popped into my head for some strange reason.

im thinking different layers of floor (first floor, second floor ect. . .)

  6. Hell yeah! Larry on top with a huuuge (electronic) drumkit, Edge 2nd, Adam 3th and Bono groundfloor...

and then Edge jumping into the crowd from the 2nd floor
  8. Maybe some moving/revolving sections of the stage. The Foo's at Wembley had a stage in the centre rather than at one end. Maybe something like that.

Well, some U2-people went to shows of Dutch singer Marco Borsato for ideas...And he DID fly over the audience...

And wasn't flying Bono an idea for ZOOTV?

And I love the layers-idea. I think we might have a moving stage...TV-screens suddenly flying over the audience (with The Fly! )...

Flying over the audience while screaming...'Make Poverty History'! Spare me..

  11. It would be cool tough to make The Fly a real flight

But I prefer the layer thing Wayne mentioned.
